This week we have one of the scenes’ OGs and that is Saint Petersburg-based DJ @KARAWAI . 

DJ KARAWAI has put together an icy mix full of variety for you guys, featuring heavy breaks right through to acidic bassline ghetto tek. The mixing is really something in this, he has kept his styles very creative throughout the mix. 

KARAWAI is also an avid producer, he has recently released his own EP over on the Russia-based @urwaxx label. The EP is called "GoaTekk" which was both a digital & vinyl release. To all you vinyl heads out there we deffo recommend you go pick this one up! He also has another EP in the works so make sure to keep locked for that.

Hosting episode 15 we have Leipzig-based DJ & Producer @deejaydetox. 

DJ Detox has been producing for a number of years and we're sure many of you guys are aware of what DJ Detox is all about! You lot may know him from releasing on some of the scenes most consistant labels such as FTP, Raiders and more. 

In 2020 DJ Detox released a EP on Leipzig label "R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings" where he put together 4 bass driven tracks showcasing his mastery of electro, techno & breaks. 

The mix he has concocted for us today is very different and refreshing, Detox has put together a real nice set for you guys this week. Delving into various styles and keeping the energy high throughout with seamless and lovely mixing.

DJ Detox Guest mix S5 EP 15

This week we are joined by the main man @mate999. Based in Paris, Maté is both a DJ and producer. Maté is well known in the scene for his consistent output of tracks, edits and mixes. If you head over to his soundcloud you will be greeted by 3 plentiful playlists packed with tunes and mixes for you to enjoy. 

Maté runs the popular label @jerryhorny which is keeping the scene hydrated and fresh with their creative and high energy releases. He has also released on other reliable labels such as @belekrecords and @bogoturerecords.

DJXWIFE Guest mix S5 EP 17

Bringing season 5 to a close we have German based DJ & Producer @3diz. 3diz is running a fairly low profile at the minute but we are sure that’ll change soon as more start to notice his talents. As you can tell from this mix he has a really good ear for it and has also treated you all to some unreleased goodies.

He has worked with previous Crazed alumni both Soda Kids and DJ Detox, collaborating with them on multiple tracks. With the track with Detox featured on a sick V/A by German based label Mechtronica. 3diz will also be releasing a track with us in the near future as part of our new track series which will be kicking off very soon.

Next up for the podcast series we have RIOT CODE for you who made a 1hour mix.

Success stories come in many forms but one certain success is Northern Ireland Dangerous Duo, RIOT CODE. Making their entrance to the industry came at a stand still time but proved to not be a problem for the two. Their debut EP ‘Drive Tribe’ hit the ears of many with this success smoothly transitioning onto their debut vinyl release on Carouse Records. Selling out in store,  ‘Tripwire’ was a clear and sure sign that RIOT CODE were not to be taken lightly. Support from a host of high caliber artists like AIROD, DYEN, VTSS, Paula Temple, DAX J, Nico Moreno, Chippynonstop, SPFDJ, Jacidox, Kettama, IMOGEN, Partiboi69, Cassie Raptor, Alan Fitzpatrick and Rebuke stands as a testament to that word. 

As much as their released music has made a mark, the unreleased catalog of singles and EPs of RIOT CODE, have been heard around the world, from Paula Temple in New York all the way to Partiboi69 in Australia further enforcing the large future ahead of the pair. 

A worldwide pandemic stopped the RIOT CODE duo from personally delivering their fast paced weaponry to the masses but a long awaited return to clubs finally arrived in the form of sold-out headline shows and festival tent overflows. Jammed packed mix series’ appearances and their very own ‘Lockdown Tapes’ series , the RIOT CODE boys have intertwined themselves as a staple name in Ireland and the UK. A BBC Radio 1 Debut and support from the biggest labels and electronic music power houses like Junction 1, Jaded London, Lehmann Club and Rave Alert all within the shortest space and time means a worldwide staple name is not far away.

The Exaltics 

 Reaching the milestone of our 100th episode today, first of all, we would like to thank all the artists that helped to curate this journey and of course all of the astronauts supporting us while we are closing in on 3 years in space. Be sure to stay tuned in as we continue our explorations with a few big updates coming up. 

  With that out the way let us focus on the absolute icon that will host this new chapter: Based in the humble city of Jena, dedicating his early days as a beacon for it bringing in artists like Jeff Mills & Robert Hood to light up the scene. This pivotal role would move over to the entire electro underground with mixes for Resident Advisor/Dekmantel/Groove Magazine, EP/LP’s on labels like Crème Organization, Cultivated Electronics, Clone West Coast Series (with another release in the work including vocals by Paris The Black Fu) and of course his project, together with his life-long friend Nico Jagiella, SolarOneMusic.   

This carefully-curated label has been one of the big inspiration sources of our series and everything that is coming up in the next months and if you are not familiar with it yet; they have released music of Animistic Beliefs, Queen Helena Hauff(an upcoming collab EP with The Exaltics in the works), Das Muster, E.R.P. and of course the man himself (with the stunning Das Heise Experiment 2 including its prequel). Also definitely have a look at its sublabels; Between Places, Rattleznake & Unhöerbar.

 Now for the mix, Rob blended his favourites of late and tried to transform his feelings in this weird 2020 with the help of his indistinguishable scenic electro with an ever-present dip of acid.

On todays episode we have @insilence1920 a duo based in Budapest/Berlin. They used to run a warehouse back in 2019 and invited artists like Runne Bagge, Jeanne, Fadi Mohem, Hyperaktivist etc. They're now involved in a  residency at a club called Lärm where they have invited artist like Miley Serious and High Future. 

The duo's productions are influenced by the psychedelic sound of the late 60s and early 70s and the unconventional compositions of the 20th century New York School composers. 

In Silence are currently focusing on a couple conceptual projects that aim towards finding new ways of presenting music and art from a label perspective and in the form of AV installations. You can check out our latest EP in one of the experimental projects called @am01-09-69jun-05-1970

STHL is a resident of the Adventures in Nightlife group down in Exeter, where they have been throwing parties across the whole spectrum of underground music. This has led to him warming up for the likes of Nite Fleit & Afrodeutche.
