A lot of stuff has gone down this year. I was diagnosed with OCD, anxiety,and blehhhhh. We've all been through a ton of stuff and I commend you for all sticking together through tough times. This is just about my personal experience through all of this, contemplating life, god, and purpose as a whole.This just kind of flowed out and I ended up writing it in 15 mins. This was a demo that I made on my bedroom floor one night months ago. I was going to release it as just a quick little thing to accompany the actual song that I was releasing this week, but this one kind of took over. There's another one coming in a couple days though, I'm just waiting on the artwork, and I need to master it. For now, get down to the smooth stylings of the treetop boogie.

Background:
I did the bulk of this one in about, if I had to guess, maybe 4 hours one day a few months back. I was joking around and playing my guitar for my mom and I stumbled upon the line "I feel like Jason Mraz" so I went upstairs and just started recording whatever came to me. So this song isn't too serious. I didn't think it out much at all. I'm very proud of it, but it isn't too serious. For me, the value lies in the spontaneity and the randomness of it. It was pretty much every first idea that came to me became part of the song. (I hope that doesn't come off as too wanky) A little while later Evan was over my house and I played the song for him and explained to him how I wanted to produce the bass. So he and I agreed on some different pieces of bass playing we could patch together and he quickly recorded the parts. Then he spontaneously came up with these additional guitar parts for the last verse which added so much, along with the outro guitar lick which served as a very nice conclusion to the song. 

SYNOPSIS:

This is a song about that feeling, you know that feeling; that feeling when you just bought a new fedora. Fresh out of the store; and it changes you... This fedora isn't like your last fedora. Oh no. You feel on top of the world in THIS fedora. You feel like you can talk to anybody and make anything happen. So what do you do? You head straight to the nearest bar and start spitting game to every fine young thang in your vicinity, cause, bitch... you feel like Jason Mraz. (and Chester Malone)

Fuck it up:

I was enjoying the anime Durarara one night after a long day of work, when suddenly this beautiful song came on in the background of the scene that I was watching. The way that the piece combined the bells and the piano, the way the rhythm flowed, the way the notes stirred up such emotion inside of me, oh GOD! I knew it was fate. So the next day, I rushed to my Mac® Laptop Computer™ and scoured the web to find this enchanting piece of musical wizardry. Then... I found it... and as soon as I did, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work on sampling it and implementing it into a song of my own... Amen.
