So when you're creating a page, uh, called form test or test, or an alternate page that isn't actually a page yet or not supposed to be live, uh, we don't want this page getting indexed in Google. Okay? So if you create a form test page just to see how the form looks, then go into advanced under the Yost settings, Yost, ss, e o, maybe.

Uh, minimize like that come all the way down here to advanced. And you're gonna do allow search engines to show this page in search results? No, because we don't want form test showing up in Google. So if you create this page just to see how it looks, go to no under there and hit update. That way, this page will not show up in Google's search results.

Um, another thing to note is if you actually want to know how the form looks, uh, you can actually just do preview. And if you hit preview, it actually shows you on a page how it looks. Now, if you're trying to style it, um, you know, and whatnot, then that might be why you know, you're creating a page. But just make sure to have.

The, uh, under advance for us s e o that this is set to know, and that will make sure that it does not get indexed. Thanks guys.

How To Prevent A Wordpress Page From Getting Indexed Showing Up In Google

Okay. When we launch the website, um, sometimes the D N Ss or whatever happens in WP Engine will actually mess with this. Um, so you'll see the menu is actually messed up on this website. Everything else looks great, but the menu, for whatever reason, is like this. What you do to fix this is you go to Elementor settings.

And this is specifically on WP Engine hosting. Um, for whatever reason, the d n s gets like kind of switched up when you're using Elementor. So you go to advanced c s Ss print method, change that to internal embedding, save the changes, let that refresh up here, and then once it refreshes, you'll switch it back to external file.

And once that loads, that should flush the d n s or the cache on Elementor, um, and kind of toggle these back and forth so it's pointing to the right place for some specific, uh, you know, settings like the header up here. So once that is done refreshing, what you're gonna do is go to the WP Engine tab and go to caching.

And then you will flush the cache, uh, one more time.

And so as soon as that resolves, you're gonna flush the cache. Once you see the date change or the time change. So I just flushed it recently. Um, you come back here, see the menu is, uh, messed up. When we refresh this, it should be all fixed. And that is how you fix the issue that you're having, um, with the menu or some other items, c s ss wise on WP Engine.

Um, with Elementor, when you launch a website, so if you see the menu is broken or anything else is broken on the website, try that trick first. Where you go to Elementor settings, um, toggle the c s s. Pointing to an internal embed instead of an external file, and then toggle it back just to refresh that c s Ss setting.

And that should switch the, uh, print method back, kinda refresh the C Ss ss, and then again, go to WP Engine, clear the cache and everything should look good to go. So that is how you fix the menu issue when you launch the website on WP Engine.

How To Fix The Menu In Elementor After Launching On WPEngine

So when you're trying to launch a website, I'm gonna walk through this process right here. You're gonna make sure that everything is on the production. In this case, it was on staging. So what I did was I hit copy, environment staging to production, all database tables and file hit review and confirm.

Then when that's done, you hit okay on the next page when that's done. Okay, everything will be on the production side, which is the live area. So we come to the domains and then what we're gonna do is go over here and we're gonna log in to GoDaddy first. So I'm gonna take their information and hopefully they'll have two factor turned on and they do.

Okay. So. Uh, let me go grab this real quick. I'm gonna do probably an SS m s and I'll be right back. Okay? So once we're logged in to GoDaddy, you'll see the domains that are in here. Um, we don't need to do anything with this. WP Engine's gonna do it automatically, so all you have to do is log into Good Eddie, then you come back over to WP Engine and go to the domains tab.

And I'm gonna jump back over here and just copy that. And so once you have all that, go to the domains and you're gonna click on add domain. You're going to put the domain in there. Sometimes I'll go and grab it from the live site. Um, just so I know I spelled it right and then I've purchased this domain.

Hit. Next, it's going to recognize, That it's in GoDaddy. Okay. The reason I have you log in to GoDaddy first is because, um, it'll just make this process a lot easier. So, you know, we had to go through the code and all that kind of stuff, so make sure you're logged in first. Um, leave these checked and then set asset sales as the primary domain for traffic.

The WordPress admin. I've read and agreed, you can hit log into GoDaddy. You're already logged in, so it's going to switch over to this page. Um, because we're already logged in as Corey, it's going to say, uh, we wanna connect the d n s Hit Connect. It's successful. So what I do at this point is I come back to.

The domains area and make sure that the primary's here and there's two other things you need to do. So asset sales, this button right here, this is the Upgrade network. Click on that. Hit Enable. Log in with GoDaddy, it's gonna bring you back to the screen. You're gonna hit connect.

And now you'll see this is in progress. Now you also need to do this for the www version, so come down here and click Upgrade Network. Enable now, and it's going to log in to GoDaddy again. Hit Connect. Successful, it'll bring you back here. So now you'll see that asset sales.com and www is in progress propagation can take up to an hour, usually doesn't take that long.

Um, so one thing that I do here is I make sure that the S ss L certificate is ordered. I'm gonna go ahead and add a certificate, get free. So, Secure all URLs. Um, usually don't have to do anything, but I'm also gonna add one. So the, it looks like the primary is already pending, which was part of that domain setup.

I'm gonna get one for the www as well, so it doesn't cause any, uh, issues. So we want both of these, um, to be on here non www and www. Um, then I'm gonna go to, P H p, my admin, and I'm going to come down here to WP Options. Okay. And so it's already set the site u r l and the home u r l, as part of that process.

So you, you probably don't need to come in here, uh, but you just want to check that the WP options has switched over to these, and if not, what you do is just double clicking here and you're going to replace that. So just make sure that the Htt p s. Colon slash slash and then no slash at the end. So just mimic what the, the site and home U r l, those need to match.

How To Launch A Website And Take It Live On WPEngine Hosting

Hey, so today I am gonna show you how to add a redirect inside of WP Engine. This is going to be a 3 0 1 redirect and forward your old domain traffic and back links to the primary domain on WP Engine. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna come in here and hit ADD domain. And we just put the domain in the box, say, I purchased this domain, hit next.

During this process, it may actually see that you are on GoDaddy, and then ask for you to point that now and you can click log into GoDaddy and then sign in, hit the connect button and it will connect it straight away. If you do not have access to GoDaddy, what you'll do is you'll hit I point, point this later, click on that, and then you'll have to manually add the S SS L certificates once the domain has been pointed.

So you say, I'll manually do this, and now your domain is already added here. And to redirect it, you're gonna hit add redirect. To the main U R L. And then you're also gonna do that for the WW version, www version down here. Redirect save changes. And you'll see in the redirect column, now we have the new domain added with the redirect in place.

And then we're also gonna hit this upgrade network, um, button. And this is going to be, again, it's gonna ask us to point to GoDaddy. We're going to do this later. And then we're also gonna do that for the www version. And so Update Network, enable. Now if you're logged into Good Addie, you can just click that button, hit connect, and it'll connect it straight away.

We're gonna do point this later. So now once you have the domain added, And the redirect, um, set up. Then you click, uh, the link that will allow you to use the advanced network, which is down here. So all the settings for the advanced network are right here. You'll literally create an a record, uh, to a records with these settings, and then a C name for the www with that.

So let me show you what that looks like. So we've got an a record here pointing to. This IP address and we've got a second, a record pointing to this IP address and the T t l we set the half hour. And then the C name type is going to be, the name is not going to be the at symbol, it's going to be www, which is essentially the name is the prefix.

So it's www dot and then domain or mail dot domain. So this, that's how this is read. You got www. I'm pointing to this C name here, half hour. And you need to do that for, for the primary domain, and it will actually apply for the www and the non www. So once these settings are put in to your d n s records at GoDaddy or whatever supplier you have, Uh, domain registrar.

Then the domain will be pointed to your WP Engine account and it will see these settings that will be redirecting it to the main domain as a 3 0 1 redirect, which will keep all your power, all the back links and you'll be good to go. So that's how you redirect a domain to WP Engine, to your account.

Adam here. Get the settings in place. Again, if you have GoDaddy, um, or another registrar supported by WP Engine, then it will be a very simple process where you can literally just click and log in and it will put the settings in there for you. It's a brilliant, easy process. That is how you add your domain and redirect it to keep all the power and ss e o to your WP Engine account.

How To Add A Domain and Redirect On WpEngine

Today I am going to show you how to set up an F T P user on your WP Engine site. So WP Engine actually does it a little bit differently. They have S F T P users. Now what that stands for is Secure File Transfer Protocol. It's just more secure way to upload your files to the server. So go ahead and click that link.

It is gonna take you over to the S F T P user section and down here you'll see the SS F T P address and the port number. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna copy that and I'm going to have a notepad pulled up where I paste that on the other screen, and then I'm going to hit create SS SAF F T P user, and you can name this whatever you would like.

So I'm just gonna name it user three. For password, you just click on this lock and it will generate a password for you. So I'm gonna write down the password, but I am not going to write down the username yet because WP Engine modifies it slightly. Uh, when we hit for Path, if you want them to have access to a secret folder on the server, uh, or whatever the name of it is, if you can spell, um, Then you just put slash and put the path in there, um, as to what folder you would like this user to have access to.

So if somebody's uploading files to a specific folder, maybe a photographer or a videographer, and you want them to upload their files straight to your server, you can do that, uh, by using the path folder. I'm gonna leave this blank. This is gonna give that user full access to everything on the server. Um, so I've got the password and we're gonna hit add S 50 P user.

Now, when you do that, WP Engine appends the username with the install name. Uh, in this case it's the curtain shop dash user three. And so we're gonna copy that. That is actually going to be your username. If you try to use user three as your username, you will not be able to connect. So I've got all of the information, uh, written down here on a notepad, ready to give someone else, uh, that will log into the server.

And that is very simply how you create an S F T P user on WP Engine.

You don't need that. That's all fluff. And hopefully I can blur out this part as well. So I'm gonna, uh, pause this video real quick while I type this in to make sure I can blur that out. What that's gonna do is that is going to set up your entire website process all at once.

Congratulations. Um, this has been set up Now. Choose a password for your account. So we're gonna, you know, it gives you some information down here. Uh, we just click create password. I confirm that I've read and type a new password in here. Let's just, uh, make a random one.

Let's see here. This should be good, all right. Or you could use the password generator if, um, you don't meet all the qualifications of, of, uh, what they're trying, they may need an uppercase, lowercase, all that good stuff. So password generator works every time. Create.

All right, and then you will website set up demo.com, and you're going to type in your password. Submit now. This will log you into your hosting account here. You don't have to upgrade or do anything. Alright, so now it's gonna maybe give you some help. You can call, blah, blah, blah. Just hit close. All right, so now you're in your backend, and what you're gonna do is you're click on this button called cPanel.

cPanel is going to log you in to another area that's the control panel for your website. Okay? The one thing you wanna pay attention to is this website builder section right here. Um, there's also, uh, an email section where you can create email accounts for your domains. Uh, connect with Google Apps, all that sort of stuff's great.

For the purpose of this video, we're gonna install WordPress with one click install. So there are some paid options here.
