Enjoy this recording I did of Mark Spence performing Mendelssohn's Variations Serieuses at the South African College of Music. Mark is an extremely talented young pianist and more then does justice to this amazing composition.

This performance of Saint-Saens 'The Swan'  ('Le Cygne') by pianist Danie Fourie was one of my favourite fruits that came out of producing his excellent 'Balletmusiek Nommer1'  in 2012. The CD is a intended for use in dance studios by professional dancers and students alike. Usually these types of albums are very utilitarian sounding. With Danie, the work is utilitarian, but it does not sound utilitarian. It has passion and variety and some really fantastic playing!

Daniel Gadd performing  'Oiseaux Tristes' (Sad Birds) from Ravel's 'Miroirs'. 
Daniel is a  gifted student at the South African College of Music studying under Albie Van Schalkwyk. I recorded  him for  a prolific national performance competition that he was entering. This was one of the pieces he entered. Daniel's performance of this stark and spacious composition resonated with me...so here it is. Hope you like.
