The Seeds of Sound Music and Arts Festival returned for its third year on Sat., Dec. 7, setting up at the Bakery near Adair Park and Oakland City for a one-day affair.

This year’s lineup, boasts performances by a dozen or so acts including Pure Colors, Partials, Regnault Monday, and more. The goal with this year’s festival, as it is every year, is to bridge the city’s creative communities. As such, there will be various styles of music, dance, painting, sculpting, food, comedy, and more to delve into throughout the day.

The festival's co-founders Anthony Prince and Jennifer Edouard stopped by CL's Short Notice Studio to talk to host Chad Radford about how this year's festival is shaping up, and everything they have in store.

Artist Spotlight: Jeff Calder of the Swimming Pool Q's and Lisa King of the Hot Place

"The Gun Show" by Elizabeth Dinkova is an unnerving look at American culture through the buying and selling of firearms. Two outsiders from Atlanta journey to one of the South’s largest gun shows. There, they encounter a spectrum of beliefs and stories that make up America’s obsession with guns. In this participatory theater experience, audience members will encounter a curated presentation of views on gun legislation, and attempt to find common ground and solutions to a national crisis. 

Elizabeth Dinkova is an itinerant director, writer, and creator originally from Sandanski, Bulgaria, and a graduate of the MFA Directing program at the Yale School of Drama.
