Beginning with a breath and a heartbeat, "An Overture for Joy" is a sorrowful piece. It is a manifestation of the stasis that goes along with that emotion, it is an appeal for joy.

From the Archive....recorded at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2005.  Sadly I have no recollection of who performed in this recording.

This is a transformation of Bach's harmonization of "Ein Feste Burg" into (mostly) non-pitched percussion.  Looking back to the hymn's Lutheran roots, there are 95 strikes of a nail as part of this piece.
