A few days ago, a friend asked me if I recognized the cover they were playing. I guessed Breathe by Pink Floyd, which couldn't have been more wrong. But it prompted me to listen to Pink Floyd's records again after 30 years, and bam, here we are again, blown away by their work. Noodled a bit around with the intro of "Shine on you crazy diamond" this afternoon, no additional instruments, just 3 different modular samplers with all their twists..;)

Diamonds Forever

Fortuna is the goddess of fate and also the name giver for this track. From time to time, life confronts us with realities that leave us perplexed and devastated. A small, seemingly insignificant event can create a big storm and turn our lives upside down from one day to the other. These moments occur on both micro and macro levels. Fate is and remains mysterious, no matter what subjective meaning we attach to it.This track marks a significant debut as Nugis very first release. You can clearly hear the passion right from the start. A lot of time and love has been invested into this composition. The songs brilliance lies in its playful details, creating an enchanting interplay of elements that guides you into a dreamy state of stasis. Thank you!

When you are far away from home and can only recreate your familiar environment behind closed eyes by remembering how it was, who you love, and what you miss, then distance is something very connecting. This distance is what Julian Schraven sought when the Cologne-based producer and electronic live musician left his homeland to explore the southern part of Europe for several months, to find out if and why he wants to return. Packed with him were a bunch of ideas of what something like a new sound could be.

These tracks draw inspiration from various elements of acoustic music, ranging from jazz in 'Yorck's Schlösschen' (a nod to the jazz club in Berlin) to orchestral hip-hop in 'Swinemünde.' The two remixes provide an additional layer of depth to the EP's main track, ‚sleepy owl,' offering darker or faster interpretations.

When Benni, Sima and Cedric met for the first time it was already clear that at some point they just had to combine their musical influences. Two years had to go by until this finally happened. The result combines three unmistakable musical handwriting into an exiting melodic poem, which says a lot between its lines, which stands out and which should be heard. Sensitive vocals, emotional live recorded piano melodies and smooth percussions are just a few of things wich makes this track really special.

While keeping the original organic character and analog richness of Trippin Jaguars original song, Jonas Schillings remix focuses on a more experimental and beat driven approach.

We are releasing exclusive music under our imprint 'Crépite. Records' and we curate 'The Gemstone' podcast Series.
We also organize events and showcases aiming at promoting musical talents, foster cross-border connections between artists, and create opportunities to share precious moments together.

Crépite started as a group of friends, sharing the same passion and similar music tastes, experiencing and evolving together as a DJ collective. Going along with starting to produce our own music, we then decided to start the record label in 2020.
