SOBRE "TIGRERO VERSUS PERCEVAL"

Las historias sobre personajes decadentes y gloriosos de otrora transmutan el sentimiento con que estas canciones fueron escritas. Mi intención no fue otra que hacer un ejercicio de re-imaginación en base a las emociones auténticas e imágenes que me provocan algunos periodos de la historia a los que me siento atraído. Más allá del carácter lúdico con que esta música fue compuesta e interpretada (como si fuera un monje medieval ebrio tratando de hacer psicodelia con ocasionales tintes de acid western), me gusta pensar que hay un atributo de honestidad en ella.

Los elementos son premeditados a ratos; otras veces son caprichosos e improvisados; las grabaciones fueron caseras y esporádicas. Es una mescolanza de gustos e ideas unidos por un marco interpretativo. No hay un concepto unificador pero sí guiños entre canciones e incluso un par son parte de la misma saga inventada.

ABOUT “TIGRERO VERSUS PERCEVAL”

The stories about decadent and glorious characters from previous times transmute the sentiment this songs were written with. My intention was to practice an exercise of reimagination based on the authentic emotions and images provoked on me by certain periods of history I’m attracted to. Beyond the playful nature with which this music was composed and performed (Like I was some drunk medieval monk trying to make psychedelia with ocassional acid western tints), I like to think there’s an attribute of honesty in it.

The elements are premeditated every so often, at other times they are whimsical and improvised; the recordings were sporadic and done at home. It’s a hodgepodge of tastes and ideas united by a performative framework. There’s no unifying concept but there are nods between songs and a couple of them are even part of the same invented saga.
