Our beloved Tyran, was 30 yrs old lived in Northfield Birmingham, a gentle soul, with a loving caring nature suffered from autism, anxiety and depression most of his life. Despite his numerous attempts of self harm and pleads for help, our healthcare system failed him egregiously. He bravely advocated for himself, asking to be sectioned for his own safety, warning Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham that without help, he would try again. Despite our desperate calls to social services, South Birmingham crisis team, and Longbridge Mental Health, each time Tyran tried to take his life, his cry for help was tragically ignored. And on a day that should have been about love and family— Mother's Day, 30th March, Tyran was found dead, alone. 

Tyran is one of many.  Every year, mental health and social services overlook these cries for help, contributing to a tragic loss of lives (Mental Health Foundation). We cannot allow this to continue. We call upon governmental bodies and healthcare providers to enforce stricter guidelines for mental health safeguarding and a duty of care, to prevent further tragedies like Tyran's. It's our moral obligation to address this failure in our system, learning from Tyran's story to protect those who need help, like he did.

Refuse to let Tyran's life be in vain. Demand a change in how our society approaches mental health. Insist on stronger, more rigorous controls to ensure no one is left unheard or uncared for in their darkest hours. Sign this petition to demand stricter mental health safeguarding and duty of care measures.
