For the past decade, Japanese/British DJ Elli Arakawa has been a permanent fixture at most of the big name parties and festivals taking place on Japanese soil. To name a few: Future Terror, Mind Games, Rainbow Disco Club, Fuji Rock and even her own creations hosted at several venues Tokyo-wide. She’s also brandished her talents across the European continent and found a growing following there. Her body of work is fully consistent with that of her fellow compatriots, the brooding and hypogeal depths that spring to mind when one thinks of the current state of techno in Japan, though like many of her peers, she has diligently moulded her own interpretation of that sound. These seductive basslines fill the air and swarm anyone who dares cross their brazen path, this is techno delivered at full tilt. Mechanical Babylon comes in two flavors, depending on your needs. The Closing Mix is as anthemic as it gets, with sweeping uplifting pads over thunderous drums. If euphoria isn't what you're after, the Drum Tool Mix is all thrills and no frills, just pure intensity. 

Closing out the EP, B-side Cybernetic Dream takes early '90s Techno into a new dimension with that signature low-end movement. Tribal percussion completes the drum section while swelling, dense chords add immense forward momentum.

As the name suggests, this release is a testament to remaining true to oneself despite the constant onslaught of new trends, gimmicks, and questionable antics - Having fortitude in a world of chaos.

Broken into two parts, part one focuses on the sounds that shaped Selective Response as an artist and explores more traditional realms of techno. Ranging from deeper, almost progressive-leaning, to early '00s-inspired hard techno, even pushing '80s synth-wave with a modern edge.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Adèce. "Impossible Hybrid" comes off the new EP, Seraphim, forthcoming on American imprint Crisis of Man. The Paris-based producer, DJ, and 3D artist has roots in the vibrant Parisian club scene. Originally releasing music under the moniker “Adāme” on Curses’s Ombra International label, he’s quickly become an artist to watch. He journeyed east to Berlin, delving deeper into the EBM and techno scenes, culminating in the release of his debut LP Crash on Diffuse Reality Records.

Inspired by the rebellious spirit of 2000s French electroclash icons like David Carretta, Miss Kittin, and The Hacker, Adèce merges this influence with modern EBM to create a sound that’s both nostalgic and forward-thinking—a robotic poetry in motion that transports listeners to his unique sonic universe.
