Talamanca has become a well-known talent in the global trance & progressive scene in recent years, thanks to a consistent output of breathtaking melodic and uplifting compositions. For the first time, we present a full EP by the Dutch sensation on Silk Royal, featuring two stunning new tracks in his signature style.

The title cut, "A Day At The Beach", could not suit our mid-summer schedule more: radiant vibes and a euphoric chord progression immediately transport the listener to the shores of Ibiza. Numerous melody lines enter the soundscape, as the groove continues to crescendo toward the main break. In the song's climax, the beat drops out, and we're met by gentle guitar, followed by a breathtaking piano solo. A true showcase of Talamanca's musical talents, "A Day At The Beach" is an instant classic.

Not to be outdone, "Expedition" is a touching homage to the vintage melodic progressive house sound of Dinka. Once again, an energetic groove is met by a variety of lush melodic layers, as well as vocal stabs and effects. A variety of emotive chord changes contribute profound compositional depth to the piece. The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show of the same name, which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as Johan Vilborg, Jayeson Andel, Vintage & Morelli, & Terry Da Libra. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, Pure.FM, Tenzi.FM, Dance Paradise, and other radio platforms, Silk Royal Showcase recently reached its 300th episode (http://www.silkroyalshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Music Podcasts in the USA on iTunes.

Carefully selected to represent the sound of Silk Royal Showcase radio, the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists are seasoned veterans of the SRS compilation series; there are also numerous first-time contributors to this year's compilation, many of whom have asserted themselves as leading talents in trance & progressive in just the past year. Call us crazy, but we've always had a soft spot for Crazy P here at Data Transmission, which if you knew what the 'P' stood for, makes that sentence take on a whole new colour... Anyhoo, what we're trying to say is that the pioneering UK trio have been able to call us fans for a long time and so it didn't take us long - less than half a second in fact - to say yes when they offered us band member Hot Toddy's remix of 'Something More' to premiere.

Taken from their acclaimed album, ‘Walk Dance Talk Sing’, which arrived via their own Walk Don't Walk imprint earlier in the year, Toddy reshapes 'Something More' into, well something more, transforming the broody, guitar driven original into a retrofitted slice of disco jam packed with groove and guaranteed to get hips swaying on the dance floor.

"Super smooth groove-smiths Whiskey Disco have distilled another disco bomb here. Thoma Cher is the supplier of the good times via, firstly, the pure party gem that is "Holiday Holiday", on an EP that marks Cher's first solo outing on this label. "Dancer" is an uplifting track with a warped bassline that wraps itself round the sliding hi hats and loose drums as boogie synths add colour. "Be My Love" is an instantly recognisable gem with a fat bassline slowed to a sensuous pace overloaded with breathy vocals. Great stuff."
