The Sexadelic Disco-Funk Sound Of Italo Boogie Disco-Funk 
To collectors, enthusiasts and dancers, asking when disco ends and boogie begins will yield a fascinating and vast array of responses. Upon their shelves of twelves and sevens of original pressings and increasing reissues and edits, the change might not even seem marked, as the full scale force of disco gave way to a more intimate, sensual, but no less physical sound. Finding underground support in the 1980s nightclubs of London among mixed black and white audiences, crate digging DJs soon caught wind of the genre’s future-facing evolution in the US.
Bubbling prior to the mixtape culture of the foundations of contemporary hip hop, or the stark futurism of Detroit techno and electro, both of which owe a debt of inspiration to boogie, the genre could loosely be described as a bridge between acoustic and electronic instruments. The arrangements are often loose and live, but usually doused in a gooey neon sheen. And while some of the synth work may sound primitive by contemporary standards, it has maintained an enthusiastic following swept up in its occasional weirdness as production methods grew more clinical and precise. Boogie is flamboyant party music, even when it can evoke the longing of heartbreak as easily as the promise of good times.

DJ, Producer and songwriter, Cris Pepper is one of LGBTQIA+ Australia's pioneer artists on the circuit tribal house. She delivers the same high level energy and originality on her original tracks, that is also noticeable in her live sets.
Born in Brazil, she started DJing in 2009, and in her first year of career she got a residency at a local club, in her hometown, Curitiba. She has performed on the main clubs in southern Brazil, in addition to playing to crowds of over 150,000 people in the popular LGBT parades in Curitiba and Florianópolis. In 2012 she relocated to Australia, where she quickly gained popularity and public acceptance, which resulted in a few years' residency at ARQ Sydney.
Since then, Cris has become a reference on the Sydney LGBTQIA+ scene, being also a resident DJ of The Week Australia label, in 2020, and currently resident DJ at the weekly DéjàVu party, since its launch day in 2021. At the DejaVu, she has being on the same lineup with the world well known artists: Mauro Mozart, VMC, Thomas Solvert, Ben Bakson, Caca Werneck, Dan Slater, Fabricio SAN, Erik Vilar.
Nowadays she has invested a lot in music production, with original compositions, productions and remixes. At the end of 2021, she released her first original song. After the success of her single, “Voice of a Dreamer”, the artist arrives again with the news of a release that will enhance all the admiration won by her fans and professionals, Cris reveals her new single “Sweet Illusion”.
