Really interesting twist on the "Mr. Nice Guy" trope, and you do so in such an upbeat fashion! Sounding great, Crísthopper. Nice touch with the falsetto at the end.

Love the staccato piano driving the song, but then letting up temporarily towards the end. Really good lyrics, and melody too.

My mom and uncle used to say I was too nice in certain situations and that sometimes. My uncle would say "you haven't done anything if you have no enemies" when I was dealing with a frustrating, somewhat bullying teammate back in the day.  I'm not saying I'm tough (or nice haha) at all but your song made it interesting to reflect on this idea.

Wow! This is incredible on every level. Painfully real but equally fair in its stark fact. Fantastic music, really gave my ear a workout.

Week 3 Prompt - Standing In the Doorway

Note about the song: First song written with covid. Bit of a ramble on this, hit record and just ran with it. It was a challenge to try to focus on something a bit more structured. I'm honestly just glad to have been able to get this out. Be well, friends.

I was introduced to this song by John McCutcheon in July 2021 and again in January 2022. Within an hour of hearing it a second time, I took a listen to Phil's version (linked above), and then set to learn a very basic picking cover. Here's my first attempt.

Disquiet Junto Project 0575: On Ice

Ice storm in a tea cup (disquiet0575)

Using the same sample I recorded back in 2013, treated with a bit of reverb here, some multi-tracking with pitch drops, (mmm, pitch drops), some copy ‘n paste, a bit of The Mangle and a smattering of various Audacity effects, I have created something pleasing (to me), if a bit hurried and unoriginal.
