Mix 070 comes from one of Crack’s favourite DJs - Jane Fitz. Since starting the seminal Peg night in the late 90’s, Jane’s been a consistently superb force for quality wigged-out dance music, and while she calls London home, the world calls to her. As a result she’s preached the gospel to clubs, rooftops and fields of dancers from New York to Bulgaria, Detroit to Berlin and Chicago to Provence. 2014’s been no different, with visits to the mythical Freerotation festival (her Sunday afternoon set at the 2013 edition was easily one of the highlights from a festival full of them) Tresor, Weather Festival, and Tel Aviv among a number of enviable bookings.

Our special guest this week on he Cadenza Music Source to Cycle podcast is Jane Fitz.  

A DJ, promoter and music journalist from East London, Jane has been making a name for herself since the early 90s, from spinning a mixture of house, soul & funk in Camden Town parties, to setting up the Peg nights in London a few years later.  Peg took its place on the underground deep house scene in the capital city, attracting guests like Charles Webster, Chris Duckenfield and Jimpster, and it’s been non-stop for Jane over the years.

A highly respected DJ, Jane has become a firm favorite amongst London’s clubbing fraternity.  She has also travelled extensively to play her music, taking in parties in Berlin, Bulgaria, Detroit, New York and Chicago, and beyond, as well as playing at her latest club venture, Night Moves.

Nico Stojan‘s rise within the Berlin house scene started with a residency inside the famed walls of Bar 25.

When Bar 25 closed its doors, new ones had already begun to open, and his deep, almost pensive take on Berlin night music had him spending his weekends playing clubs such as Panoramabar, Watergate and of course, Bar 25‘s spawn, Katerholzig.

A classically trained clarinette player, Nico Stojan often surrenders its sound live, weaving it through the lusty mood of his sets – it was only natural that he evolved from DJ to producer and soon the Berlin underground were being treated to his own releases on labels such as Highgrade, Connaisseur and Upon You Records.

Collaborating with other artists has been an important role on his journey - leading to projects and remixes for the likes of Philip Bader, NU, Pele, Acid Pauli and Andri to name a few. With his European successes having taken him all over the continent, Nico‘s fate pushed him onto an international platform. Venturing to New Zealand, he has taken bookings all over the Pacific ocean whilst being the right man for the job in supporting international acts when on tour.

One of the dreamiest realists that you'll get to know, he understands that magic hides within our reach, you just have to pull it from the dust.

Der 65. Podcast stammt von Florian Rietze, der vor ein paar Monaten Teil von URS-Records wurde. Der 29. Jährige Potsdamer hat sich damals viel mit Breakedance und Hip Hop beschäftigt, seit 2005 befasst er sich aber mehr mit elektronischer Musik. Die Inspiration für seine Musik findet Florian in alltäglichen Dingen wie einer Stimme, dem Geräusch der Straße, der Natur oder einfach aus Stille. 
Mit Veröffentlichungen auf Labels wie URS-Records, Delicieus Records, Steyoyoke, Ritter Butzke Studios, Click Records und einigen anderen, hat sich Flo einen Namen in der Szene gemacht und wir sind wirklich froh, ihn für unsere Podcast-Reihe gewonnen zu haben.
Viel Spaß in den knapp 90 Minuten, vollgepackt mit Überraschungen aus verschiedenen Musikrichtungen und Stimmungen die einen zum Träumen bringen.

For the first single from a 6-track EP from Montreal's Clarian (who is also one half of Footprintz), the Canadian reached well beyond the border to collaborate with Tel Aviv-born, Madrid-based producer Guy Gerber on "Claire." Gerber has been a major player on Israel's electronic scene since 2006, running his own Supplemental Facts label and infusing traces of minimal techno, tech house, downtempo and deep house in his productions, while remaining singular in his approach. Clarian's vocal contributions were at the heart of Gerber's progressive house-leaning Fabric mix from last year, which joined the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Omar-S of artists that turned in single-artist mixes to the series. "Claire" starts amid a queasy vocal snippet (with Clarian's French whisper lodged in at the midpoint) and threatens to go darker and deeper. But a steady handclap and glimmering melodic line uplifts and casts light across this seven-minute track.
