Tasillo - "We don’t always play all of those tracks in our live sets but we still love them. This 9 Essentials edition is quite dance floor orientated and starts with a vocal from one of the last Figure Records releases. We like Len Faki’s label Figure a lot and thought that this vocal is a great intro for the mix. The second track is a remix from Len Faki and we actually play it quite often as an intro track. It builds up a nice energy and brings people into the right mood for a Pan-Pot set :) Solaris Iterations from Kaspiann is an amazingly deep techno track. Great grooves with deep atmospheres. The following track is a remix from Kyle Geiger. Loving the (Italo) disco vibe in it. Next up is DEAS with his track Space race. The whole EP of Deas is a banger. Same as Rocko Garoni’s track “It’s All Yours“ feat Cook Strummer. Super dark and deep techno. Second State’s longterm member Michael Klein delivered a banger with Hoisin which follows Rocko’s track. The track “Reason“ from Proxima is a moody acid banger and always works brilliantly in clubs. Last but not least as an outro we chose a breakbeat remix from Delta Funktionen to roundup the whole mix. “Der Sturm Kommt” is German for the "storm is coming“, and the name of Michael Klein’s new EP could apply as equally to the artist as to his music. In the past two years especially, Klein’s career trajectory has skyrocketed thanks to the ever-increasing quality of his output. His tracks have been hand-picked for compilations by Amelie Lens and Cocoon honcho Sven Väth while his productions are supported by big-hitters including Laurent Garnier, Dubfire and of course Pan-Pot, the owners of his home-label Second State.

On his latest EP, the storm is coming quite literally in form of three high-energy bangers that help establish Klein as one of techno’s most reliable party-starters. The title track recreates the mood of an actual storm, opening with grey squall before the heavens open in a downpour of android-like vocals, high-volume distortions, a relentless kick and a build and drop sure to blow up any club it’s played in. Rather than dial it back on Wasser (meaning water), Klein keeps the heat turned right up, deploying a snarling acidic bassline recalling the best of International Deejay Gigolo Records and adding his own stamp in the form of a characterful dog-like bark. German for “when you scream”, Wenn Du Schreist is, as its name suggests, the most ominous-sounding of the lot. There’s a dark energy to the production, with spooky treated vocals and rubbery synths creating a nefarious atmosphere. Importantly though, like everything on this EP, the track still bangs.

Der Sturm Kommt is another package of high-BPM floor-scorchers from one of the hottest names on the scene today. With every release, Klein just gets harder, better, faster and stronger.

There are very good reasons, of course, the history of electronic and techno music holds a special place for this  pivotal ‘Madrileño’ artist who has played a crucial role in building the Spanish industry as we know it today. One where the new generations have entered too. 
	
Master and servant for the cause. Cristian Varela has a very busy schedule that takes him all over the world. For those who are patient, you should be able to catch this awarded artist in your home city or country. For those who need a more regular dose of his music selections, you can catch his weekly radio show at Bloop London Radio and all his shows that’s syndicated in Europe, USA, South America and Asia via more than 100 specialised techno stations in more than 50 countries.

Pioneering techno producer with his own weapons. Cristian Varela has run since 2003 one of his most esteemed projects: Black Codes Experiments imprint. As it could not be otherwise, the label forged itself a firm reputation as one of the most prestigious, forward-thinking brands on the international electronic music circuit. Futuristic, enthusiastic and with a constant target of forming a strong alliance by keeping people dancing in unity to the electronic sounds and beats.

Well as an entrenched and highly respected producer, or as an immensely reliable DJ (his 6-Six Vinyl shows are just stunning as unique and the best way to join wires between past-present-future), Cristian Varela continues bouncily his expansion.
