Tokyo’s Risa Taniguchi returns to Chris Liebing’s CLR with the ‘Break It’ EP 29th August 2025. The two-tracker follows her previous outings on the label, 2024’s ‘Wakes From Coma’ and ‘So Loud’, which earned support from Dave Clarke, Kelly Lee Owens, and Luke Slater, and 2022’s ‘Acid Flesh’, in collaboration with Black Asteroid.

Title track ‘Break It’ sees Kneaded Pains, Second State, Mind Medizin, and core CLR artist Risa Taniguchi open with high-intensity built around pounding kicks and a searing synth stab. The tension is palpable as icy hats and bold low-end drive forward beneath evocative spoken vocals culminating in a dark, strobe-lit roller primed to lock in peak-time floors. There’s no respite with ‘Give Me Up’, a tense and relentless follow-up laced with razor-sharp percussion, unresolved loops, and a monstrous, rumbling bottom end. It’s precision-tooled Techno, designed to hit hard, both physically and mentally.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like Shlomi Aber, Dubfire, Flug, Bjarki, DJ Dextro and more while also focusing on developing newer acts in the scene such as The Southern, and Klint.

Nach all den Techno-Nummern, die er für sein Label @aeon-audio produzierte, hatte @alexniggemann mal wieder Lust, etwas mehr mit Melodien zu arbeiten und ein wenig housiger zu produzieren. „Ich bin ein Fan davon, solche Nummern mit percussion-reichen Beats zu unterlegen“, erklärt der gebürtige Düsseldorfer. (...) Herausgekommen sind dabei die Tracks „Siyawa“ und „Ace Kwela“, die nun via @last-night-on-earth erscheinen. Erstgenanntes Werk ist durch seine dunklen Sub-Percussions, den Bass und die steigenden Pads geprägt. Diese Eigenschaften sind für eine turbulente Nummer mit einem hypnotischen und euphorischen Groove verantwortlich. (...)

‘Just the Night’, that was the title of an interview with Cristian Varela by the British outlet 15 Questions. There are very good reasons, of course, the history of electronic and techno music holds a special place for this  pivotal ‘Madrileño’ artist who has played a crucial role in building the Spanish industry as we know it today. One where the new generations have entered too. 
	
Master and servant for the cause. Cristian Varela has a very busy schedule that takes him all over the world. For those who are patient, you should be able to catch this awarded artist in your home city or country. For those who need a more regular dose of his music selections, you can catch his weekly radio show at Bloop London Radio and all his shows that’s syndicated in Europe, USA, South America and Asia via more than 100 specialised techno stations in more than 50 countries.

Pioneering techno producer with his own weapons. Cristian Varela has run since 2003 one of his most esteemed projects: Black Codes Experiments imprint. As it could not be otherwise, the label forged itself a firm reputation as one of the most prestigious, forward-thinking brands on the international electronic music circuit. Futuristic, enthusiastic and with a constant target of forming a strong alliance by keeping people dancing in unity to the electronic sounds and beats.

Well as an entrenched and highly respected producer, or as an immensely reliable DJ (his 6-Six Vinyl shows are just stunning as unique and the best way to join wires between past-present-future), Cristian Varela continues bouncily his expansion.
