To kick off our 2025 release schedule we are pleased to welcome Ape Suit to the label for his debut with this saucy little number entitled 'Duality EP'. The three tracks on show here from the Australian producer demonstrate his ear for sound design and a blurring of styles, with elements of breaks, techno and glitch all combining with the 140/dubstep vibe to create something truly unique, which is shown again through the amazing track titles.

Opening number 'Where You Stumble Lies Your Treasure' kicks of proceedings nicely with a techy inspired tracks that marries nicely with some distorted bass driving the track along. 'Sirens and Screems' ups the energy with some LFO madness that drives the track through various stages of cleverness, lots of change ups and lovely drum breaks. The third original track 'Now is the Envy of the Dead' has an element of breaks in it with a lovely shuffle throughout that allows it to vibe alongside some awesome vocal sampling.

On remix duty we welcome back our breaks aficionado Ekula to flip 'Sirens and Screams' as only he knows how, taking the energy of the original and dialling it up to 11, then applying breaks and amens a plenty!

2016 has been a stand-out year of releases on Dirtybird, including the launch of both our sister label Dirtybird Select, as well our subscription service, the Birdfeed. But the year isn’t over just yet, and it’s not in our nature to just sit on the bench and ride it out, especially as we’ll be ringing in 2017 on a weekend. So we decided to double-down on our end of year special, and present 10 brand new originals to end the year with a bang. 

Featuring nearly a dozen artists across an array of genres, the second volume of “The New Years Special” includes Dirtybird staples Walker & Royce & Sage Armstrong, newest members of the family Dateless, Sirus Hood and Ciszak, and household names Roland Clark & Weiss. 

It wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t debut a few new artists as well, so we added some breakthrough tracks from future talents Egopool, 6ftshort, Slow Jam and Elevator Music.

We’ve had an epic year of music in 2017, and in years past we usually put out a collection of music for our New Years Special compilations. This year we’re switching it up and dropping just one final banger, Ryan Forever’s “Nasty”.

If you were at our Dirtybird West Campout for the infamous Family Set, then you’re already familiar with this monster. After a steady stream of all-stars, Ryan flipped the vibe and dropped “Nasty” and the entire festival went completely bonkers. 

As soon as we snapped back into reality from the campout we hit up Ryan the next week, signed the track, and invited him back for our East Coast campout in February.
