Neverwhere notes.

This one is for Lara, a dear friend of mine and also a huge Gaiman fan.
The music for this composition was entirely inspired by the book “Neverwhere” by Neil Gaiman. It starts out on a creepy note using a toy piano and then progresses into the story itself. I have tried to incorporate all the characters and some settings into the recording. Although musically questionable, I find the final result very interesting. Enjoy!

A little bit about me...
I've been a fan of electronic music since it's humble beginnings. The first piece I heard was by Tangerine Dream. i believe it was called Fauni Geni; something like that. I was hooked. It was simply the weirdest, most wonderful thing I had ever heard. As I got more interested in it, I discovered that there was a growing momentum in the electronic music genre.  I was living in Europe at the time and was in the thick of it all. Suddenly groups like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream were making waves. As time moved on, solo artists started appearing as well. Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Isao Tomita and Kitaro ; among others, had suddenly become mainstream. This is where I really started getting interested in the playing and recording aspects. In time I managed to save up enough money to get myself a small studio and began experimenting with different instruments. Within a time peiod of a few years I had a room full of equipment. Back then you had to actually buy or build effects units. Not like today whee everything is at my fingertips using a pc. Echo's where actually made by recording something to a tape and then running it repeatedly along a playback head. Yikes! Over the years the studio more or less phased out and has now been replaced by a computer that keeps freezing up because it can't seem to handle the sounds and vst machines I toss at it. But that's ok. Nothing is going to stop me from creating new (and unusual at times) music pieces! Cheers to all you soundclouders out there!!!!
