Critical Music welcomes back Dutch producer Waeys for his first release of 2025, following a busy year of collaborations, remixes and solo tracks.

‘If Not Me’ drones, steps and snarls its way rapidly into life with a detuned bassline stretching across a spacious two-step beat, decorated in just the right places by bars from MC Sylla.

As the name suggests, ’Backhanded Wobbler’ is… wobbly. But in a very good way, with a squelching, acidic jump-up bassline going wild across skipping drums for a track that's as sonically interesting as it is energetic.
