Christian “Crizzy” Matera was born September 10, 1966 in Bridgeport, CT. He is a songwriter/vocalist/guitarist who writes country/rock music and songs of life, love, temptation and redemption. He moved to Florida while in his teens where he lived until relocating to North Carolina in 2016 and then Nashville, TN in 2024.
In 2009, Christian auditioned for CMT’s Can You Duet (Season 2) with his son, naming their new duo “Fighter Blimp”.  Playing his original songs, the duo made it to the Top 20 on the program out of over 5,000 who auditioned.

For most of his professional career, Christian was better known as Crizzy, the lead vocalist/guitarist/songwriter of his band Crizzy & the Punx. Popular for their wide range of influences and an upbeat blend of rock/pop/punk/reggae and country.
Crizzy and the Punx debut CD “Tight” was released in January 1999. Several songs were licensed to and played on MTV Road Rules. The band played countless concerts, performed at the 2001 Atlantis Music Conference, the 2001 97X Next Big Thing (featuring 12 national bands including Sum 41 & New Found Glory) and a pre-show at the Ice Palace for Blink-182. They opened for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Misfits, Flogging Molly and Mary Ramone & the Intruders to name a few.
