Following standout appearances on Feel My Bicep, Unknown To The Unknown, and E-MISSIONS, Irish-born DJ/producer Cromby hits Rekids with a four-track EP of crisp techno cuts. Heavily utilising the sound of hardware across the release, ‘Twisted Future EP’ sees Cromby explore the depths of these classic sound palettes over robust techno frameworks. 

‘IXP-42’ brings crunching drums and wiggling synths together for over two minutes, building tension before eventually, the much-awaited bassline comes in thick and fast. ‘Follow The Bass’ brings a dose of the unusual to proceedings, with snaking FM leads modulating throughout a maze of sizzling percussion.

On the flip, Bleep meets Baltimore on ‘Relief’, with meaty acid lines, vocals and clattering drums sparring with each other across the track, while ‘Vortex’ rounds off the release, with bright shimmering stabs peppering the stomping drums and distinct squelch of the 303.

Berlin-via-Belfast artist Cromby announces the launch of his new label Potency Records as a home for his rave and acid-infused productions made with the dancefloor in mind. Launching with ‘Potency 001’ on the 9th October, the EP follows on from releases on Feel My Bicep and Unknown to the Unknown.

The three-track EP opens with the highly sought after ‘Shake It’ which has been teased in sets over the last couple of months including his Streaming From Isolation Boiler Room where he went back-to-back with Sally C, United We Stream session and the brilliant high energy ZeeZout mix. ‘Try Acid’ and ‘Ahhhh’ continue to showcase Cromby’s signature sample love affair, bold basslines and ecstatic melodies.

Talking about Potency Cromby says, "I wanted to start the label as a creative outlet for my own explorations between the realms of house, techno and acid, combining old school rhythms with new school flavours. I’m excited to team up with an old friend and amazing illustrator Chris Martin to portray the label's art vision. Expect plenty of larger than life trippy record sleeves!"

Repping the Irish flag across continents, Cromby played his debut Stateside show earlier this year at Good Room New York and has become a Panorama Bar closing legend with several 10-hour+ stints. Other key dates include Robert Johnson, Wilderness Festival, AVA, fabric and Printworks.

Cromby’s career is on a steep upward trajectory, the Irish DJ and producer who now calls Berlin home, has played at major clubs and festivals all over the world including esteemed venues like Robert Johnson, The Warehouse Project, Fabric & Boiler Room. Becoming a regular at Panorama Bar, Cromby was invited to do the infamous closing slot which he did with an immense 11 hour set back in December 2019, returning again this year for more. 

Cutting his teeth holding down a six year residency at the legendary Shine in Belfast, Crombys first record came out in 2012 on New Yorks The Love Revolution. Then came two releases on Berlins Tenderpark and a relocation to Berlin via London. 

2018 and 2019 proved to be breakthrough years in his career, seeing him release on three groundbreaking labels; Sulta Selects Silver Service, Feel My Bicep & Unknown To The Unknown.

2020 is set to be even bigger with Cromby embarking on tours of Australia, Asia and the Americas. With two more EPs already signed to respected labels, its more than safe to say he is one to watch.
