Italian freshmen, Primal Code, grace the 8th release with four tracks of soothing storytelling. The duo’s visitation targets the mesmerising consolation of an indigenous area. Their sound blooms violet across fields; swaying, conscious of its place in the wind. Each song stands as an analysis of deep, diverse and detail driven biota. Slow melodies and eerie atmosphere offer something that shows us how beautiful Primal Code’s sound is.

Primal Code [KONSTRUKT 008]

This release, an 8-track compilation on 2 x 12", features material gathered over the past 2 years - either particularly exciting tracks from etablished producers like Ron Albrecht or Philippe Petit or outstanding music by fresh faces such as Noncompliant or Espen Lauritzen. Some of these tracks are also featured on the Berghain Mix 08. The DOUBLE MIXPACK E.P is all techno, but it covers a pretty wide range of styles within that genre. The result is a nice mixpack for the dedicated selector: After the testpressings had been sent out, the overall feedback was that one could have a lot of fun experimenting around with these 2 records. The FiedelTwo#3 is basically the kind of releases that would allow a DJ to keep on mixing for half an hour after they've shot all their bullets and have nothing left in the bag:  no fillers, only killers.

Marcel Fengler’s IMF label is putting out a three-part compilation this month to celebrate their tenth release. A project that has taken almost two years to complete, it will feature artists new and old to the label including Shed, Luke Slater, Scuba, Arthur Robert and AVION.  Across 18 tracks, Fengler has said the project hopes to showcase the eclectic nature of the label and the full range of music its artists have produced.

Long-time label collaborator Thomas Hessler features heavily across the compilation. Premiering is his original on the compilation, the melancholic, euphoric and funky ‘Senses'.
