Fresh new talent from Switzerland and resident of  Nordstern Basel Club, Olivan is a name to watch in the near future. Recently he delivered the beautiful Anafra EP on Ouie Circle label  by Acid Pauli & Nico Stojan. 

Oh his debut EP on Akbal Music, Olivan has created three original master pieces taking them all into different states of mind, he has remained faithful to his musical style at all times. His roots in drumming are recognizable in all three productions through several live percussion recordings. 

Autoscopia is a trippy track. Starting with a  simple groove and mutating to a driving melancholic journey  main with some synths they will take you to a parallel universe. 

Contra Mova a powerful  track accompanied by sampled guitars and driving live percussions. The track is underlined by a strong synth  element and a deeper hypnotic vocal. 

To finish the record, The Riff is a straight forward track with a more techy character. Repetitive guitar riffs, and some quiet guitar plucking comes back aggressively to another wave after the breakdown.

Audiofly’s Flying Circus Recordings curate a second volume of new music for their ‘Cross Borders’ series, with contributions from Brian Cid, Wild Dark & Ariaano, Sabo, Miyagi, Chambord and Joell.  ‘Cross Borders Volume 2’ spans across the house music spectrum, all united in the quality production, sophisticated sound sculptures and the great grooves packed into each of the tracks, music for late nights and early rises from the Flying Circus camp.

From the spiritually animated ‘Maka’ by Sol Selectas head honcho, Sabo, to the deep and hypnotic atmosphere summoned on Brian Cid’s ‘We Are Dreamers’, ‘Cross Borders Vol. 2’ brings together six tracks of magical quality from some of the scene’s hottest producers.  Miyagi (Supernature/Einmusika) delivers a brooding and melodious cut ‘Sadie Adler’ whilst Wild Dark team up with Ariaano for a deliciously driving and divine ‘Lyonesse’.  French duo, Chambord, contribute the bright and breezy ‘Pyramid & Sun’, whilst Joell wraps up this heavyweight edition of ‘Cross Borders’, deploying heavy sub bass and intricate melodies on ‘MTV’.

Sinchi returns with a 3rd instalment of their acclaimed ‘Altered States’ compilation. Once again, raising funds for their own Sinchi Foundation and the work they do in supporting indigenous communities worldwide.

Again this is a truly international affair featuring artists across 4 continents. Representing South America, Altair & Sagan (Argentina), in North America, Mr. Tea (US) and Loui Martz (Mexico). In Europe, Lithuania’s Dannie Fade and British artist The Soviet Union, then crossing in to Western Asia, Syrian duo Boschoco… who’s hit Semsem (released on Sinchi this year), is remixed from the label themselves.

The label has become a symbol of originality and defined by a willingness to experiment with different genres and unknown artists. In the labels own words, 'we hear so much music that is churned out by ‘big name’ artists, which although usually beautiful produced, doesn’t do anything for us. Of course, high quality production is important but the ethos of the label is geared towards music which dares to be different, not judging demo’s from an artist’s reputation and most importantly is it unique enough to stand the test of time’.

'Récits de Mars continue to deliver the goods, and this time Nosssia & Rhodas deliver the 16th EP.

Nosssia has been releasing music on Radiant and Atmosphere, making musical waves and gaining the attention of Récits de Mars boss Several Definition. Here teaming up with Rhodas to deliver some of the good stuff!

First up Nosssia brings the 16th, a musical mesmerising workout, where depth meets uplifting flavours, as big strings add drama, as the musical journey unfolds.

'Corpus' is next, and this melancholic workout, full of emotion and energy really is a peak time smile inducer. A rounded and beautiful track that will no doubt reflect the emotion of these times.

Several Definitions steps up on remix duties of 'Corpus', and takes things up a level again in the emotive stakes. Punchy and driving and a real hands in the air moment, a fine remix right here.'

Sander (@im-sander) and Stephane Salerno (@compositeur-arrangeur) are back on Crossings with a stellar EP. The title track, Relève-Toi, is a mesmerising piece, with a rich combination of melodies and pads, and a powerful original vocal written and performed by French slam poet Oneiroi.

Globally acclaimed producer Michel Cleis (@michel-cleis) delivers a stunning remix. With releases across the underground spectrum, from super smash hit La Mezcla on Cadenza to releases such as Mir A Nero on Pampa Records, his super-distinctive sound needs no introduction.

As the remix starts, you immediately recognise the rich complexion of Michel Cleis' drums, which provide a perfect balance of festive and hypnotic throughout the track. It goes on to layer one of the original's cinematic vocals and an astounding mixture of melodies, with vintage sounding keys and a disco baseline. The result is wonderful.

The EP concludes with Timeless, a melodic storytelling piece. The constantly evolving conversation between the lead synthesiser, the keys, pads and cinematic vocals conveys a delicate balance between beauty, melancholy and energy – which can sit equally well in a club, on the beach or at home.

Crossings is a London based boutique electronic music label and a platform for artists and local heroes from around the globe and their respective communities to interact and grow.
