For the Crow Hill Company composing challenge, January 2025 - the prompt was to write a piece with some experimental elements, featuring the latest Crow Hill Vaults instrument, "Mallet Piano".

The Chameleon, made from the Crow Hill Company's The Vault Mallet Piano, having been warped, chopped and mashed to make different 'instruments', in 4 out of 5 tracks consisting of:

1. Mallet Piano as "Infinite Pad"
2. Mallet Piano as "Bourne Rythm"
3. Mallet Piano as "Herself"
4. Mallet Piano as "Reverse Self"
5. Glass Strings Longs Sustain



The Chameleon

Something outside of my comfort zone... Ok, let’s do this; new year and all that. This track is a drum sample loop, an improv bass loop, and two and half minutes of sloppy, non-quantized, warts-n-all, improv into my DAW (featuring Crow Hill's "Mallet Piano" as lead and bass).

I REALLY wanted to “fix” things in the daw, but I settled for adding a little reverb and cutting the percussion out a few times to emphasize riffs toward the end.
