Tony Momrelle, one of the UK’s most significant and exciting soulful singer-songwriters, is back with a revelatory seven-track EP delivering edge, variety and the message, loud and colourfully clear, that this, entirely, is his time.

Fly is Momrelle and Momrelle alone. Where oft before the artist has aligned his incredible talents to the interests of others, here he cuts through with his own personal agenda wrapped around everything from jazz-funk hustle to majestic soul glide via peppy street beat jam.

The titular opening number is full of funky cut ‘n’ thrust, feeding snappy drums beneath Momrelle’s soaring promise of love and life without bounds.  Get On Up demonstrates serious sass too, switching smartly between struttin’ loops of bass guitar and that epic, call-to-arms chorus.  But there are captivating changes in mood.  The dreamy honey-soul seduction of Spotlight, gentle piano caress of Everything’s Alright and emotive, beautifully simple plea of Here It Is - Momrelle’s earnest delivery building with intensity throughout – all point towards a classic modern-day take on Hathaway and Wonder.

We are also treated to a bonus hook-up with The Layabouts, 1 Step 2 Luv - the combination of slick Momrelle vocals and crisp acoustic pulse works a treat. Then there’s Reel People’s deep soul-house remix of Fly, which built lovingly upon layers of lush synths and pads, and those sweet 4-4 drums, rounds us off in fine, fine style....

Tony Momrelle has been a student of music since the age of eight. One of the UK soul scene’s finest contemporary exports, he has worked with everyone from Whitney Houston to Sade, fronted legendary band Incognito for over 10 years, and continued to steer Reel People alongside Oli Lazarus. His new EP follows a long line of quality Reel People Music releases including Amazing, Star, Golden Lady and Time, but this is his first solo venture for the imprint.

Fly is take-off for the next major stage of Tony Momrelle’s hugely exciting career. A fully immersive tour through his incredible vocal and lyrical repertoire, this brand new ear-grabbing EP represents the perfect warm-up to an album due at some point next year. Melbourne band-scene heavies Au Dré (Audrey Powne & James Bowers) blast onto the gulf with their debut vinyl release in sync with Record Store Day. Late in 2016 they launched a self-titled, self-released CD that smashed the barriers of both time and taste with a boogie-fuelled, synth-pop jaunt through decidedly jazzy landscapes. Peppered with sultry stories and New Jack Swing-uendo (if that wasn't a thing, it now is) the EP hit local airwaves hard, the single 'Wanna Know" catching the attention of label boss Benny Badge who signed it on sight and joins Audrey on secondary track "Wonder". Get it while it's hot!
