Witch Trials will release his anticipated new EP CANNIBAL CULTURE on 18 September in the form of our second vinyl release. The upcoming EP spans genres and journeys between contemporary dance, electronic, house, and breakbeat - showcasing the progression and expansion of a standout artist continuing to evolve and reinvent his craft.

The new EP from Witch Trials delivers a time-travelling thrust of rave culture, melodic riffs and atmospheric beats that would work the dancefloor as hard as a solitary listener at home – experiencing the tracks in confinement.

London-based, American-born, and Irish-raised artist Witch Trials releases the visual for his new EP CANNIBAL CULTURE. Confusing the lines that bound or bind art and music, the visual captures the fusion of trauma, light after dark, and a chthonic realm of solitude. The photographic concept and the sound world push distinct interpretations of the mediums and work alone or in harmony.

Schmeichel (Leipzig, Germany) has teamed up with Shane Lizard (Berlin, Germany) to expand their respective footwork influences. In the process, they have carved out a pulsating, constantly breathing core full of soul beneath ice-cold drum blocks that ultimately seeks resolution on the dance floor. The four songs on the Breath Studies EP reflect breathing techniques for control, support and redemption in interpersonal situations.

100% of profits from the release are donated to a very worthwhile cause, the Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation - Grime pioneers Rapid and Slix (Prince Owusu-Agyekum and Ebenezer Ayerh) started this foundation in 2017 in order to help create opportunities for young people who have incredible talent but who are from a less advantaged background, thus potentially not having the chances to develop their skills to the fullest.

VIPs are becoming more common again with the fast turnover of music in our rapidly evolving musical environment. These enable the producer to continue playing their own tracks in DJ sets but have an edge with a slightly updated version from the released tune. VIPs are mostly never made available outside a select set of DJs, but for the Samurai Hannya series we had a few that were really too strong not to release, so we commissioned a few more to round out the EP. Homemade Weapons is a long term proponent of the VIP and he shows his experience here with his updates of Omen and The Claw, transforming them into entirely different approaches that have been favourites with all DJs that have had these in advance. Roho and Torn strip back their tunes and both provide essential renovations to their initial constructions that propel them back into your crate as essential frameworks to build new blends.
