Zero has become one of the pioneering names out of the next generation of upcoming producers in the Bass scene since its resurgence in 2016. Initially the Brighton based producer started out producing various different genres within electronic music until he found his calling at 130bpm. 2017 was spent building his catalogue and really honing in on his sound showcasing his music via the Southpoint & Saucy camps. At the end of the year his remix of Chris Lorenzo’s ‘Foot & Mouth’ made its way into some A-listers inboxes and within a matter of weeks all the big players at the table knew who Zero was.

Fast forward to the end of 2018 and Zero is the name on the whole scenes lips. Releases across Maraki Records and Crucast as well as featuring on Holy Goof’s FabricLive 97 along with his ‘Enter The Dragon’ Remix which took shows by storm around the country, so much so that DJ Pied Piper gave the nod to let it be free’d to the masses. His innovative productions rewarded him with bookings at Boomtown Festival, Printworks, Mint Warehouse, Antwerp Warehouse and Bassment just to name a few as well as a guest appearance on Rinse FM from arguably his biggest inspirations - My Nu Leng.

2019 will see him bridge that gap from support to headline artist starting with his debut 1Forty Release, as well as another major US Label as he looks to pull up his seat at the top table alongside the likes of DJ Q, Flava D, Skepsis, Holy Goof, Taiki Nulight.. you get the jist.

It's been quite a while since we unveiled such a high-profile face to the label, which is why we are thrilled to be introducing Echo Knight into the fold. ‘Look At Me Now’ is the first of many self-releases on my new imprint and release platform, @barcodes_uk. The aim is to showcase 100% of my own sound and a new style of bass music, one that I want to have substance and longevity as time goes on.

Further down the line, I hope to be able to release other artists’ music and grow Barcodes into a proper brand, identity and label. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while and am very excited to kickstart it. This first tune captures a lot of the elements I want to present through future releases.
