I spent most of my time in Thailand sitting by the pool playing with synthesizers in my computer; watching the sunlight bounce off the water and onto the surrounding architecture.
The reflections made clear the oscillations of the waves on the water and how they bounced off the pool walls, reflecting and interfering with one another. So I tried imitating this in Ableton, playing with reverb & delay for the reflections and LFO synths for the waves interacting and modulating one another.
