Pinerolo Cantina is a restaurant in Oslo. I was commissioned by the owners to compile and mix three mixtapes. Their directives were rather vague, lending me an opportunity to pick from any genre, not care too much about how commercial the tracks were and just create an eclectic but cohesive compilation that would contribute to the relaxed vibe at Pinerolo. This is what I did.

Walking In The Sun (Crussen Bootleg)

Together with Greenpeace, Norwegian composer Terje Isungset went to northern Norway and recorded Ocean Memories. All instruments are made out of ice.

Moving into a studio just by the ocean, I was quite naturally inspired and this is what came out when I played around with these unique and wonderful recordings.

I like nature and music and I like deep dives into the depths of my own mind.

It’s becoming more and more obvious that my mind is really busy - way too busy. It is always exposed - constantly receiving and absorbing, processing and changing.

I have therefore become more cautious of what I want to let into consciousness and taking regular breaks from the endless stream of stimuli and simply paying close attention to my mind has helped me pierce through the spellbinding clutter of unstoppable thoughts. To me, what reveals itself on the other side is a profound state of
calm. A calm from which natural curiosity, playfulness and love can spring freely.

Music is a channel where I express this natural playfulness that I believe we all share deep inside. Playing my music on top of the Robot Heart bus at their ten year anniversary was one of those precious moments where I felt you were responding to this - we were playing together.

When you express a similar joy and playfulness to that which I create the music with we set a beautiful feedback loop into motion. Getting eye contact with you and seeing how me and my wobbly harmonica notes crack you up into a big smile affects me and really fires me up. 

Your response inspires me to create more and feel more and
express myself more. 

I would like to send a big fat virtual hug to everyone who rode their bikes deep out into the playa that morning and to Robot Heart for  making me part of the family.

Playfully exploring music, mind and nature.

I see, smell, hear, taste, listen and feel and let the impressions marinate in curiosity, laughter and contemplation until they burst out through my finger tips. Sometimes I'm surprised - most of the times I'm smiling.

For about a decade I have been exploring ways in which I can have a new experience of myself in the world. Upon seeing myself differently, I am reminded that I can move around in this world with lightness. My concept of Self needn’t be so fixed and as stimuli come at me, I can receive and carry it without attaching to it. I can let it move me before I respond and let it move through me and out.

Over the years a mission to be in service of others has established itself. As I go further into my own practices, the mediums through which I express myself solidify and multiply. I create electronic music, DJ, play harmonica and harp, facilitate breathwork, sound journey and movement experiences. I see every interaction and every situation as an opportunity to understand myself better, and the better I understand myself the more I can relate to others.

Playful, explorative, cathartic, ecstatic, integrative, sustainable – I aim to create opportunities for us to allow ourselves to just be – to be fundamentally human. I want us to feel animated and motivated to move into all areas of life – even the dark ones – with lightness. Let's embrace it all and celebrate life itself!
