what we find episode 5 featuring sanguine - over recent years, sanguine has been steadily stirring tides from ocean to ocean with music landing far and wide on labels like sure thing, oslated, and lost properties. With his latest sliding doors release, sanguine builds a deep and cloudy soundscape across many different tempos creating a rich sonic world with titles like ear gum and gone to taste a dream to match. This finely tuned method of design and arrangement translates to selection and storytelling in mixes with notable features online for series like pure space, maybe, and decay audio. Brian Weitz has been making music as Geologist with Animal Collective for going on two decades.  The egg first cracked in the mid 90's at Baltimore record fairs and long overnight radio shows in New York on WKCR. [Censured Version] He smiled with a sudden vigor, eyes lit by some fierce thought. The bottle hit the wall, his hands tearing sequined and polka-dot clothes into shreds. Some clung to his sweating body, others fell like ashes on the floor. He stood beneath the chandelier, weeping in silence, a figure crumbling in its own ruin. His rage twisted into a curse, an outcry that never broke. At the window, his shadow breathed with the morning. I watched through the half-open door, small, silent, staring at the animal he believed himself to be.

In this collaboration, Radboud Mens and I explore the tension between stasis and movement. Operating within the realm of drone and electroacoustic music, we construct a sonic landscape where sustained tones and microscopic events constantly shape and reshape each other. What initially appears static reveals itself to be rich with detail: tiny acoustic shifts breathe life into apparent stillness, inviting focused and attentive listening.

The album emerged from a process where sound research, improvisation, and sound design merge. Self-built instruments, the search for timbre and texture, and recordings of the learning process itself form the foundation of these compositions. Rather than following a traditional musical structure, the result is a sonic field in which the minimal continually transforms depending on the listener’s perspective. This is a layered and handcrafted album that doesn’t narrate, but questions. Marking A Boundary With The Turning Point is not a boundary. It’s an invitation to listen differently.
