This weekend was a blast. 
Its hard to describe the pure joy that we felt during our set on saturday evening from 7-9pm. 
But we give it a shot and try to take you with us to this moment. 

First of all, it was raining cats and dogs for most of the weekend, so we prayed for some good weather. 
When we arrived at the stage, while @reyneke was playing his live set, we were shook by his intriguing sound but also the amount of people that gathered in front of the stage, ignoring the rain from toe to head. 

When we started playing, the blessing happened and it stopped raining, followed by the sun, appearing 30mins later for the second and only time at this day. 
To watch the people turning and applauding the sun was just heartwarming and what we wished for. 

The music was a built up, from warmer tones to heavy hitting bangers and back to an outro that released the tension that we built up during the last hour of our set. 

Beside one technical issue, everything went fine, but the issue was to fun, to not share it with you. 

It happened that one player froze while I (Senior) was searching for the next song to play. 
In pure adrenaline, a short evaluation of how long the actual song  should last, I decided to just restart the player. 
After pressing the shutdown button fully in, I noticed, that the playing track was launched from the player that I was up to restart. 

With the finger on the button, fearing to let it go (it felt like stepping on a mine and then noticing, that you now cant move) @marholz calmly decided to just give it a shot and hope for the safety-loop-function that the pioneers should have activated. 

It worked and in the following 15 seconds we picked the next song and mixed it in, hoping, that no one noticed our little melt down, fearing that the music would stop midset. 

But hey it worked out ;) and overall we had the feeling that we could share a special moment with alot of people, regardless of one failure. 

After this little incident we continued and were happy to hand over the turntables to @sahrabass afterwards, knowing that she will turn up the heat for good.

Thank you @friendlyconnections for the invite and to all the people behind the @zugvoegelfestival that made it happen due to the bad weather and all difficulties that come with it. 
To all the people on the dancefloor that expressed their joy and to all the ones that came over afterwards to have a little chat with us.

Prolific Polish duo Catz ‘n Dogz return to DFTD with ‘Fired Up’, featuring Dope Earth Alien’s unmistakeable vocal. The house, disco and electro DJs and producers have just celebrated two decades of chart-topping releases and international shows with a special remix compilation on their own label, ‘20 Years Of Catz ‘n Dogz’ on Pets Recordings; the label bosses are also heading to Defected Croatia 2024 for an anniversary boat party like no other. Following their two-track DFTD releases ‘Inner Revelation’ and ‘No Regrets’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, Greg and Voitek return to the London club label with prolific dance vocalist Dope Earth Alien; also a DFTD returnee following recent club hits ‘That Sound’ with Deeper Purpose & GUZ and ‘Tempo’ with OFFAIAH. Tuğçe Kurtiş is the first soul-bird sharing her special sound with us. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Tuğçe grew up with a love for music. She studied voice, jazz vocals and west-african drumming and is known for her ethereal & clear voice. She performed in countless occasions and her musical output crosses genres and continents. In addition to singing and recording in multiple languages, Tuğçe collaborates with the talented Santi in song-writing and musical production. As the founder of the Kybele project, she develops opportunities for greater collaboration and broader inclusion of artists from around the world. Since 2016, Tuğçe has produced podcasts and played DJ sets for numerous radio shows, record labels and live events. With MONADA BRAHMA 001 she invites us on an intercultural acoustic journey with smooth vibes and dope influences woven in a heart-opening downtempo beat. So let the stars dance in a vortex of the cosmic monads! :))
