Win or lose he'd find himself back in the house by 5PM on a couch, feet propped up, with a cigar, facing an old stereo listening to jazz, and lounge-y tunes. This track instantly brought back that image, so vivid that I can smell the smoke. I appreciate how CRWN (aka King Puentespina) strung bits together to form a cohesive whole in 'New Yorker', and I appreciate the mood he created from this. Music can mean anything to different people; to be able to relate to one shows the ability of the songwriter to create a connection. CRWN has this skill, and it lit a room in my head I haven't seen in years."

" “On My Mind” draws inspiration from the seductive pleasures of R&B, but C R W N’s sonic constructs are more than just about imposing surface sheen for a possible top 40 crossover. As someone capable of presenting plenty of possibilities with limited resources, the young electronic producer assembles vocal fragments and samples in a beautiful disorder, reinforcing mood instead of form while rubbing some sense of fleeting nostalgia in the listener’s face. It’s an exercise in minimalism, a stab at sparse production style. C R W N explores this familiar ground all too well from start to finish, willing to engage in few innovative surprises to satisfy his curiosity for both the weird and the accessible.

However, it’s totally unfair to give full credits to the producer without mentioning the muse behind the groove in wax. We haven’t even discussed the quiet storm of a force that is Olympia’s voice—a fragile, alluring instrument that complements C R W N’s otherworldly intimacy. The R&B rookie delivers melismatic hooks that crash through the ambience with a smudge of sugar and spice. Not many singers of her age can command such force.

Call it chemistry or tension, this perfect merger between C R W N’s production skills and Olympia’s laid-back delivery has all the right ingredients to pull off magic, in an exciting way. Collab part 2, anyone?"

TWICE - More & More (crwn Remix)

Manila-based producer crwn returns with a brand-new single, “Moment to Moment” and its b-side companion “From Time to Time,” out on November 6, Friday, under Pool Records—his first release since 2019’s Labyrinth. 

Experimenting with house and funk elements, “Moment to Moment” and “Time to Time” are the first music from crwn since the Luzon-wide quarantine began in March this year. 

The new single will be accompanied by visuals from artist Darlingkink and will also feature selected poems by writer Gian Lao for the “From Time to Time” music video, premiering online on November 13 and 20, respectively.
