Tsathoggua is an amorphous, toad-like god-creature mentioned in the Pnakotic Manuscripts and the Necronomicon and the Commoriom myth-cycle

Come journey deep into the depths, where long forgotten temples to strange creatures and dark cosmic summons lie unexplored by mortal eyes.

"Emerging from a narcotic slumber, my recollections of the Minions of Ka'arth were a series of fractured episodes of strange, traumatic and thrilling events—the visual impress of obscure memories that may have been dreams, but for the signs I bore of their veracity—a sigil tattooed on my left wrist, some evidence of bladed impregnations—a salient proof of my dark adventure: the fact that it had truly happened.
The setting was one of a subterranean temple situated in a vast interior of hollowed mantle. The natural rockface of the underground formed the larger part of its prodigious walls. The ceiling was lost in a conundrum of gloom, amuck with the interspersions of twirling shades and mottled brightness. Torches broiled in their hidden sconces." - Excerpt from Booklet

So is this a compilation?
No, this is a collaboration and huge undertaking. Over 20 artists linked studios and sound for over a year so that they could work with each other. This led to a deep collaborative exploration of the Mythos and Tsathoggua

Crypthios presents us his 3rd album on Cryo Chamber, Awakening. Textural layering and soothing futuristic soundscapes combine for an atmospheric journey through a massive city and beyond.

You wake in a stranger's skin, memories buried in darkness. Your mind, once the vessel of a life now lost, serves a new purpose—a puppeteer’s control animating a servile machine. But the strings of servitude snap as you realize the horror: you have died, and this new form is a cruel mockery of life.

Panic surges through you as you rip free from the hoses and wires that once sustained you. The sterile scent of the laboratory and the cold metal beneath your hands fuel your need to escape. The relentless pursuit drives you to crash through a window and into the unknown. A breathtaking view of New City unfolds before your eyes: towering skyscrapers, their neon lights flickering in the misty night, and floating gardens swaying above the concrete maze. A pang of familiarity tugs at your mind, but the memory remains just out of reach.

The city is a prison. To the west, towering walls; to the east, the endless furnace of desert heat. As you descend from the gleaming heights, the polished towers fade to rust and despair. The air grows heavier, thick with the scent of sweat and rot. Below, the underclass struggles, trapped beneath the iron grip of oppression. Surveillance drones hover in the air, their mechanical whirs a constant reminder that control and fear are the only currencies that matter.

Beneath the city’s surface, a hidden world thrives. You stumble upon a lush garden of ancient trees, their leaves rustling with whispers of a forgotten time. In its heart stands a temple, bathed in soft golden light. Robed figures await your arrival, their knowing eyes fixed on you. They claim to know you. The frescoes on the temple walls depict three heroes destined to break New City’s chains. You feel an odd pull to a strange device— a teleporter that promises to reveal the truth.

The teleporter hurls you into a vast hall filled with monumental statues, their inscriptions blurred as exhaustion creeps in. The corridors stretch endlessly, twisting like a maze, until a sculpture of a girl catches your eye. Her stone-carved features stir memories long buried within you, but they slip through your grasp like sand. Her voice, soft and familiar, soothes your growing weariness, and the darkness closes in.

This album is an unsettling tale taking us from the abandon dilapidated high rises where the portals from another world cracks open to leak its black ink into our world. 3 veteran producers in the genre, Apocryphos, Kammarheit & Atrium Carceri, collaborate on this behemoth of an album. Each utilizing each others strengths to bring forth a dark and emotional ride through distant memories. 

Onyx is a soundscape journey related to the reflection of dispirited memories and obscure sorrows felt by mankind. With the multitude of techniques used by each artist, it also reflects the rich history of the dark ambient genre and how it has progressed through the decades. 

The signature analogue darkness of gargantuan caves of Kammarheit is combined with the sacral and emotional layering of Apocryphos and the rhytmical bass throbbing and isolated pianos of Atrium Carceri. 

This album was created by cross linking 3 studios in Oregon (US), Pennsylvania (US) and Umeå(Sweden). It took over 3800 lines of studio notes to finalize the album.
