Timeless Void

Pedro Pimentel returns to Cryo Chamber with his second album on the label, Self Destruction Themes. This time with help from Amund Ulvestads beautiful cello performances, Simon Heaths textural piano work and Apocryphos atmospheric distortion layers. 

This is a massive album of cold but inviting atmospheres, filtered noise, acoustic layering and sweeping textural layers. The sad theme throughout the album paints images of a world depopulated and of overgrown and dilapidated cityscapes.

The fourth Sphäre Sechs album was recorded during improvised studio sessions. Using a selected set of analog instruments Christian Stritzel and Martin Stürtzer have put together a mystic, slowly evolving ambient sound. A warm cocoon in cold space longing for the enigmas of the solar system and beyond. 

Transient Lunar Phenomena are changes in appearance on the lunar surface of unknown origin. Light signals and color changes have been observed since the 6th century. The lunar events were officially cataloged in NASA technical report TR R-277 in 1968.

Alphaxone serves us a warm and inviting album about the contrast between the dystopian and the dream of a better future among the stars.

With a breath of fresh air from the oxygen tank you gaze over the rooftops towards a red sky. The colonization ship glimmers, leaving for dreams of a better future. Below, the city has turned dead silent after curfew. You fish a cred stick out of your pocket, enough for this months oxygen supply. At this rate you're ten lifetimes away from a resettlement ticket. Or 6 months if you play your cards right in the underworld.

Recommended for fans of Space Ambient and Warm Analogue pads.

Lost in the Moment

Finally, we see Robert C. Kozletsky return with a dreary and guitar driven follow up to 2016's Stone Speak. Against Civilization is where Robert takes a different sonic path. Vastly different from past releases, but still wrapped in the solemn sound Apocryphos is known for.

Civilization is a curse. Your head hangs heavy in the windowpane as you gaze upon the dregs of society. It soon collapses and nature turns feral. Those desperate to cling to their hollow idols fall silent, eyes sunken. They are not there. They have abandoned us. They are against civilization...

Features stark and captivating artwork by Erik Osvald and a 12 page booklet with extended artwork and text emphasizing the turmoil within the music. Close friend and fellow collaborator Pär Bostrom (Kammarheit, Cities Last Broadcast, Hymnambulae) makes an appearance on two tracks.
