I can string a lot of words together, plot the chords upon the measure,
Play them back to your great pleasure while you sing along. 
I can choose these words to make ‘em rhyme, spit ‘em out infour/four time,
But I could never, ever write a song. 
I can write some lyrics that won’t bore us, maybe even add a chorus,
Dub in harmony so glorious, play it loud and long.
I can play the bass to give it bottom, play the notes, and even dot ‘em.
But I could never, ever write a song. 

You keep saying it’s beyond your power.
Can’t never could, and never will.  
What if I told you that you can be anything you want? 
So, don’t focus on the things you can’t do, just the ones your really want to,
And I think it might surprise you what  you can get done.
Find someone who shares your passion, make a plan, put it in action. 
Now the revolution has begun. 

I am tall enough to reach the pedal, have my license and the title.
Keys are in my pocket, but I’d never drive a car.
I’m afraid, you see, of where I might go, I might drive too fast or too slow.
Never know, I might go way too far. 
I hope you see the point I’m making, I don’t think I am mistaken.

We need lots of partners for this dance.
