Sun Balloon came from a hard relationship, one that looked good on paper, that seemed healthy and whole on the surface, but caused a deep pain that could barely be recognized or described in words. It came from crystal's partner giving him a balloon in the shape of a happy, emoticon-esque sun. It came from accepting lost love, that yearning to be near people that takes us to unexpected and sometimes toxic places. Most of the time, the songs stay personal, reflecting on trust, loss, longing, and dreams. 

crystal & quiet was born out of a self-help group for creatives, where crystal and onus lumens met. They gathered once a week with five other men for 12 weeks to unblock and build a framework for empowered creativity. Years of trial-and-error have led to the deep bass and drum grooves, gritty synth, thick keys, and intricate percussive elements that now make for an iconic and moody pop delivery. crystal takes centerstage with a playful lyrical style to tease along the listener, backed by an almost limitless tenor control. Producer onus lumens builds his own expansive sample and sound patches using Max For Live, paired with a mastery of electric guitar sounds. They organic rhythm section backbone includes Jesse Moffat on drums, Ian Holstein on keys, and Abraham Neuwelt on percussion.
