Dormant States (Full Album)

"As We Breathe" will feature music inspired by the often-denigrated art of minimalism in music.   Composers such as John Cage, Morton Feldmen and ambient artist Harold Budd, and Brian Eno are examples of this type of music.  The album will consist of solo piano works with minimal layering (if any at all) and absolutely no sequencing and quantizing.  Various delay/reverb effects and, at times, field recordings or found sounds may be added to some tracks to achieve a variety moods and atmosphere.

Minimal retro ambient track recorded in one take  LIVE using a hardware sequencer and a couple vintage synths.  Played the ambient cello sound going up and down the scale while controlling the sequencer at the same time 

 It took much longer to program the synth patches to get the sounds I wanted, than to create this song...  NO post-production. 

Best listened to at lower volumes.

Myth

Recently acquired an old  80's Ensoniq VFX on the cheap.   A very unique synth. Capable of some dark, dense, gritty sounds especially when using the transwaves to create patches. This is probably due to lack of resonant filters on this synth.   A great addition:)  Here's a  simple track featuring only sounds I programmed for this synth.

  I start all songs by recording an improv session first to get some ideas on melodies, song structure, mood, tone etc.  Ocassionally,  the quality of the improvs are nice enough to upload here.
