Crystal Pier Records (Edsbro Music, Sweden) is delighted to announce the release of ‘Secret Message’ on 30th July 2020. It was co-written by Rich Evans and Fred Abbott (Noah & The Whale) and is a nostalgic look back at discovering Rock ‘n’ Roll music for the first time. The song is an upbeat, harmony-driven rock arrangement full of youthful exuberance and vitality and details the enduring magic of classic rock music. The song namechecks various musical legends (The Jayhawks, Billy Joel, The Eagles and Bob Seger) and features Oliver Keenan-Lyu (The Range Studio) on drums/ percussion. ‘Secret Message’ is produced by Abbott who also plays all the instruments while Evans sings the vocal parts and harmonies

Crystal Pier Records is a music company based in Scandinavia. Caj Rosenqvist, a highly experienced producer and sound engineer, established the record label as an offshoot of his production company. At present, the label’s roster centres on Rich Evans – a singer-songwriter who has toured internationally and recorded in a broad variety of styles. There are, however, negotiations underway to imminently bring a number of additional artists into the mix; Crystal Pier Records has piqued the interest of a number of US-based artists who work in the Country and Blues genres and who have been impressed by its approaches – more news to follow soon!   

All projects are underpinned by a focus on creative freedom. Unlike many major labels who slavishly follow industry trends and restrict releases according to market forces, Crystal Pier Records is driven not by the head, but by the heart; the production of all material is a collaborative process where the artist is involved at every step of the way. Rich Evans’ releases to date have seen him write most of the material and then, when UK-based recording sessions have been completed, Caj, in the Edsbro studio, has overseen the post-production. His methodical processing; type mixing; mastering and occasional overdubs consistently contribute to a finished product that allows artsists to realise their original vision. 

Our goal is not that we, ourselves, will be stars overnight, but we are currently building up something of a resume. We firmly believe in the redemptive power of music and are excited about the prospect of working with and further developing artists down the line. With our collective expertise, we hope to enable talented musicians that may have been overlooked by larger corporations to fulfill their potential. Maybe, in the near future, that could be you?
