Lapo & Ago, alongside the rest of the mighty Numa Crew, are responsible for some of the most crucial, addictive, and classic 140 material in the history of the scene. Tunes on Moonshine and Killa Sound such as "Youth Pon The Corner," “Everytime" (as Numa Crew), "Dreadlock Blues," and Ago’s "So Mi Seh" on Innamind are stone cold classics that haven’t left many selectors’ boxes since release. After a long pandemic-enforced hiatus, ZamZam returns with our 83rd release, offering two more future classics for the global dubwise sound system massive, on 7" vinyl- the original sound system format. 

Coming in hard with kick, melodica, and echo chamber vocal fragments, “Spirals and Pyramids” drags us into the dance with stabs and a
rubbery, buoyant bassline that’s hard yet playful, reveling in the elemental joys of the dance, community vibes spread through sound system principles: bass, reverb space, haunting melodics, and masterful frequency control. Upful steppers is the vibe, just in time for a summer that we hope brings a return to in-person sessions wherever you are. 

The wholesome pleasures of the A side do nothing to prepare us for the massive weight and sound-killing heaviness of the flip, “Shot The King!” From the very first dungeon tone and bone-dry high hat holding time, the mood is pure dread and the die is cast for war. Calling out soundboys and weakheart with sound tape declaration and a thick miasma of smoky reverb, this is a tune to test sounds and bring dancers to their knees. Staccato kicks and swarming sub drive the riddim, augmented by lasers, minimal percussion, and a feeling of elated claustrophobia that only proponents of this music understand.

FZP08, the latest from Frozen Plates, sits ready to set sail. It brings us great pleasure to welcome none other than Gnischrew , the Viennese bass advocate, on this outing! True to expectations, the boss man of Sub Audio Records delivers a pair of bass-heavy tracks from straight out of his sound lab. Only a very lucky handful have heard these tracks previously – now you can add your name to the list.

On the ‘A’ side sits a reggae-dub-influenced summertime piece, made memorable with its earth-shaking bass. It sets the perfect mood for a warm afternoon, ready to bump any open-air occasion up a few notches. On the ‘B’ side, a more abstract, melodic piece holds ears enthralled with a massive, wobbling bassline. Both tunes come sound-system ready.

Our last, but by no means least, release of 2020 coming from mega powerhouse-producer @teffa dropping two huge 140 tracks to round off this bazaar year.

A - Pluto
Utilising deep chords and filled with constantly developing grooves, this track is filled with sounds which can only be described as echoes from the outer reaches of space, or Pluto if you like. 

B - A20
Certainly what some might call a left-field approach to speed garage, Teffa perfectly blends funky snares, filtered square waves and rattling percussive sound design into an incredibly tidy dancehall-ready track.

This time 50 copies will be available to preorder from our Bandcamp. 
All records will be hand-cut by the dubplate-cutting master Henry Bainbridge at @Dubstudio, onto 10" transparent plates!

SASDUB08: Teffa - Pluto / A20 10" (clips)

After the hugely succesful ENV outing from Ekula we agreed it was time to focus more on the man and ensure a slew of releases in quicker than usual succession.  With that in mind we wanted to pull together a top draw release for the digital fan base.

ENC054D is that release. Showing the versatility of the man, this release hits left right and straight down the middle. All angles are guaranteed HITS. Seeing plays by many a mainstream radio station as well as a host of underground platforms.

1. Speech - Not going to say much here!  Lets the music do the talking
2. Meadows - My 2nd Favourite on the list and thats nearly impossible to say as I think I like the whole release the same... But this was the first track we penned for the release.
3. Dancehall Filla [ft Natty Campbell] - This is possibly the best track I have heard in some time and I get sent ALOT of music!
4. Dance Again - I want to thats for sure!
