This week’s podcast session features the Leipzig based D/O/22. The emergence of D/O/22 can be illustrated as a mixture between sequenced waveforms and random voltages to coat charged particles and create electronic music, while uniting common ears and unfold audible loops.
The base of their production is the construct of infinite possibilities, in which the obvious is not effective at the role allocation. Their love for impulsive sounds in all kind of forms, is expressed in their anesthetic approach. Enjoy this one hour immersion.

Forsvarlig Podcast Series 038 - D/O/22

I came across Amandra and his work through a brilliant release on his Ahrpe records. "Ovend - Marathon" and it opened a door to some consistently high quality music from that avenue. His new double EP "Drachme Tolosate" is an embodiment of that consistency, on a vinyl there are normally tracks you think are a bit so-so, especially on a double. But not on this one. Consistency sets genius apart from talent and this mix offers more of the same. Atmospheric, warm and dark all at the same time with Amandra's own brand of energy layered on top.

SHXCXCHCXSHは結成以来、メンバーの名前や年齢、性別などいっさいの情報を公開せずに、徹底して匿名性にこだわった 活動を行っている、スウェーデン東部のかつての工業都市、ノルチェピング出身のテクノデュオ。ある時ストックホルムで再会を果たした 2人は、互いにテクノのダークでエクスペリメンタルな領域への愛情を共有し、すぐに自然ななりゆきによって、制作活動を共にしながら 自分たちの音楽を進化させていく。彼らの音楽的バックグラウンドは、ヒップホップからロック、ポップスまで広がり、その多様な知識と 経験から形成された、彼ら特有のサウンドとアイディアは、ノイズ、ドローン、グリッチ、ブロークンビーツ、インダストリアルミュー ジックなどの要素の入った、徹底的に妥協なくシリアスなSHXCXCHCXSHテクノを生み出すに至る。
その後SemanticaやSubsistといったレーベルから散発的に作品を発表していたSHXCXCHCXSHは、やがて ShiftedとVentressによるレーベル Avianをリリースの拠点とし、何枚かのEPのリリースでシーンの注目を集めた後、2013年に自らの発音しにくい名前をエッチングしたデビューアルバ ム「STRGTHS」を、続く2014年にはセカンド・フルアルバム「Linear S Decoded」を立て続けにリリースする。とりわけ「Linear S Decoded」は、これまでに彼らが培ってきたパワフルでスリリングなテクノサウンドを少しも損なうことなく、素晴らしく複雑で優れた感受性を湛えた、 新たなるSHXCXCHCXSHの世界を提示、この作品のリリースによって、彼らのシーンでのユニークな位置づけは決定的なものと なった。以後もSHXCXCHCXSHはLIVE PAを中心に精力的に活動を続けており、もうすぐ待望の新作のリリースも噂されている。

Vito Lucente

Toronto native Vito Lucente formulates his distinct sound by blending the mechanical with spiritual, culminating a meditative state spawning from a deeper subconscious intimacy. Using pulsating rhythms, deep hovering soundscapes and a discreet layer of emotion with prototypal Detroit attributes he creates a cathartic feel behind his productions and mixed sets. The gravitation towards experimentation builds an atmosphere of penetrating energy that has become a signature to Vito's sound. Conceptualizing his work by complimenting it with visual stimulation and theory, Vito ultimately manifests a broader spectrum of the art, taking it beyond the realm of techno music, but rather capturing the essence of an transcendental form of artistic expression.
