***Inspiration For The Song***

-- I was fortunate enough to work at a residential facility with some pretty cool young ladies for a few years, in that time I was introduced to an entire side of life I had no clue about.  I learned the true definition of perseverance and accountability, I was put into a "role model" position but looking back it was those kids that were role models, every single one of them, it was one of the most difficult jobs physically & mentally exhausting but at the end of the day you went home knowing you made a difference, you went home learning something about yourself, you went home thinking about those kids that were still locked up at the program that would eagerly be waiting for you to return for your next shift in the morning with a smile on their face, thats a powerful feeling.  It was like a big family, the one that a lot of them didn't have, the one that some of us didn't have as well, When people used to ask me if I had any kids, I would always respond "22 of them actually" Although I do not actually have any kids, these girls were/still are the closest thing I've known to that feeling.  I am forever grateful for the way these kids effected my life, Thank You!
