"S.Y.G." is the very first collaboration between longtime NYC music scene staples and good friends Peter Matson and Toribio. The song merges electronic minimalism with syncopation, a Korg MS-20 adds gritty bass, while Toribio's haunting voice shines on the track. Additional production by Sheffield’s Ross Orton, known for his hardware-driven style, “S.Y.G.” blends industrial grit with soulful groove, honoring Sheffield’s rich electronic music legacy.

Listening to "Cha Cha" takes me back to 2015, when a bright-eyed version of myself first arrived in Los Angeles to, as I saw it, take over the world. I was put in a room with Anabel to write some songs at the Interscope studios and I could not have been more excited about the opportunity and everything I imagined the future to hold.

Life has turned out very differently in more ways than I can imagine and while I'm grateful for it all, it's beautifully melancholic to connect with that past version of myself through this song and grieve that specific flavour of youth I am no longer in possession of.

P.S. You may have noticed this is the 'velvet' version - an alternative that for various reasons got released instead of the original. Who knows? One day you may actually hear the original... It's quite something 🪄
