Susana Valesca and her mentor Mineko Matsumoto met three years ago at a high school in San Pedro Cholula, Mexico. Susana is one of eight children and her father supports the family by selling bread in the informal economy. With Mineko’s help Susana opened a bank account – the first in her family – so that she can save for college. 
But Susana is at a crossroads. She’s been saving for college for two years, but her family is struggling: They lost access to running water. Susana’s trying to balance her desire to help her family financially and pursue her dream of going to college.
