Recorded live from a bursting Night Cat, feel the sweat off the walls as two old friends & esteemed contemporaries showed out. Travelling through raw uptempo grooves, pulsing deep house, acid explorations and straight hard slapping techno, the two take it everywhere and back again - holding an enthused party in the palm of their hands.

While the sounds of this raucous crowd was not recorded, if you listen closely you can feel the palpable energy as the lightly audible noise of jubilated dancers come through the stylus. Jammed and hot from an hour in and thick til close, this is audio proof of the way two very perceptive DJs can grab hold and take you to higher places.

Q: How did you prepare for this mix, and how would you describe the result? 

I’ve been meditating a lot. Haha, no, honestly, my little girl loves to play with the levers on my sound card, so the recording part has become a bit more time-consuming and nerve-wracking. Other than that, it’s the usual. I have a box where I keep the new records I want to use. I start with those to see what direction they want to take me, and add a few older favorites where they might fit. 



Q: Is there a record in the mix that you associate with a special story?

I have quite a few records here that I’ve found while traveling over the last few years. Some from my visits to Sweden and Denmark and four or five from our last visit to Argentina. The rest of the family was sick with the flu at the beginning of our time in Buenos Aires, so I had more time than expected to visit record stores in and around the city. Knowing where I found a record or who recommended it to me is always a nice memory, and it remains with most of my records even after 30 years. 



Q: How do you dig for old/new music/records?

Well, most of it is online these days, but I still love to go out diggin or swap with friends. These days I rarely have the time to go to record stores, flea markets or second-hand stores, but it’s all the more fun. Diggin used to be much more dependent on whether I found something nice or not, now I can just keep going for the fun of it. 



Q: One record that doesn’t want to leave your turntable lately?

I try not to play my favorite record(s) non-stop like I used to, but rather as a reward after a long day or when I need to cheer myself up. It’s usually hard for me to choose one, but lately it’s been “pursuit of color” I’d say. It took me more than fifteen years to find a copy and when I finally did, I had almost forgotten how much I loved it.  



Q: Music bonds people. Any djs/projects/etc.. you would like to shout out? 

Big up to all my friends here in Zürich: the hum‘ crew M&M, Oli, phantom island massiv Tobi, Ron, Lexx, my Kern buddies, Fabi for keeping it real and all the good laughs, Nick and the whole crew, Alex and Sacha and everyone involved, missing it, Buzz for never stopping, Synths of World for the good energy, much love, CocoFresco, looking forward. Steve. Richard for he‘s records-for-free-boxes right next door. Adi. Emel. Big up Jeansie, let’s take the blue line up north. Mika. Lars. Sam. Ty. Headphone magic. Basso. Delivered with love from Nijmegen, Guus Christian floats in a selection laced with warmth and soul. Co-founder of Blauwdruk a label and club night, as well as a familiar face behind the counter at Marini Records, Guus brings a deep, informed perspective shaped by years of digging and dancefloor devotion. This hour shines a light on US sounds from the late ’70s and early ’80s with Gospel, Disco, taking centre stage infused with some Brazilian joints for good measure. Come along for the ride!

We were cruising in the back of a bus on our way to a school football tournament when Damian handed me his Discman, bumping a Derrick May set. Needless to say, that moment flipped a big switch in me — nothing was the same after that.

Fast forward 25 years and we are still living house music.

Damian is that quiet hometown hero — humble vibe, but a master on the decks.
This is his only vinyl warm-up for Jeremy Underground at the MAD crew throwdown in June 2025.
