Since “Narimasu” EP released last year by label USI KUVO (Tokyo), Tokyo based producer DJ/Producer WRACK has been seeking to make Japanese-style club music. As for the first release on the label, WRACK combines genres like GQOM and GORGE with this 4-track EP album ”Hotto Kotto”, which is also keeping his Japanese scale style and iconic sound on club music description.

WRACK had released many bangers by albums/V.A with labels in recent years, such as NAAFI, Eco Futurism Corporation, Club Late Music, Oxyorange, Absurd TRAX, CyberSonicLA, Babel Records. He also organized club party CHEMICAL MONSTERS in Tokyo which invited NAAFI's Imaabs, Lao, Zutzut, Fausto Bahia, Mexican Jihad, STAYCORE's Dinamarca, Mechatok, Intruder Alert's B.YHZZ etc.

Ancient primal energies meet a mind from the future.

I love music that evokes a certain feeling that can only be explained sonically or visually, and not accurately in words. Originally, this mix was for practice but the idea and selection flowed out of me. I wanted to channel the same energies that I try to carry in my original works into a techno mix: meditative elements, juxtaposition, references to the ancient, sexiness, and drums. Some songs just have that "vibe". Hopefully the image and sound transmit the idea. Enjoy!

In his talk, Gene Kogan examined the ways in which machine learning augments the composer's workstation, including compositional assistant tools sorting large media collections and deep generative models for audio synthesis.

The CTM MusicMakers Hacklab is a weeklong open, collaborative laboratory hosted by Peter Kirn of Create Digital Music. Now entering its 6th edition within the CTM Festival, the 2018 Hacklab brought on co-host Ioann Maria to reflect on the promise and danger of artificial intelligence and machine learning in music under “The Hacked Mind” theme. Four Input talks were programmed during the Hacklab week, to give Hacklab fellows and interested audiences a few possible points of entry into in theme. Fellows worked on new musical ideas and inventions all week, presenting their work at the Hacklab Finale on CTM 2018’s closing Sunday.
