Like a blossoming mind-fungus, the microtextual world of upsammy hums with the uncanny seepage of the organic. Effortlessly blending translucent tones and funky rhythms, the Amsterdam artist creates a natural groove that flows through different speeds of spatial vibes and dreamy soundscapes. Collaborating with visual artist Jonathan Castro in many of her live shows, they craft psyched-out landscapes, playing with contradictions of comfort and solitude. These are beautiful companion pieces to her ephemerally-hitting DJ sets, drawing from trippy experimental DnB and offbeat techno.

DJ Stelze aka outernational.lunki ist schon seit vielen Jahren musikalisch aktiv. Schon im Teeniealter wollte er DJ werden. Aufgrund der spärlichen Verfügbarkeit von Equipment und Schallplatten, hatte er sich dann erstmal aufs Rappen verlegt. Hier spürt man DJ Stelzes D.I.Y. Attitüde, seinen Hang zum selbst anpacken und so kam es über verschiedene Entwicklungen zum Veranstalten und auch wieder zum Auflegen und hat er es doch geschafft, seinem Kindheitswunsch gerecht zu werden.

SK LIBRA
SK LIBRA hat sich mit der Zeit einen eigenen Stil angeeignet, ohne sich dabei auf ein bestimmtes Genre festzulegen. Angefangen mit Hip Hop, RnB und Rap (2018), ging die musikalische Reise recht schnell über Edits/Bootlegs weiter zu Club- und Bassmusik und zum UK Sound (Garage, Jungle, Breaks, DnB) hin zu House, Techno und Ambient. Ihr Anspruch ist es, die unendliche Vielfalt der Musik zu zeigen, indem sie unterschiedliche Sounds miteinander verwebt und dabei eine aufregende Atmosphäre schafft.

In Vitro is the moniker of Quetzal Contla, born in Mexico, he has been developing music, sound design and mixes, interacting with very different styles. His music has been published by Nulogic, Kreislauf, Silent Flow, Soundsphere, Deep Electronics, among other creative international labels. He was releasing music of numerous music projects from around the world over a decade through
Breathe Compilations netlabel. Also delivers mixtapes for Mixotic, op3n, Deepindub, DJ Magazine presents Soundlab, Poisonoise,

Deep Electronics # 436 - In Vitro

Ahead of the work we are doing with Detroit veteran Craig Gonzalez this year, here is a mix he’s done exploring new rhythms and soundscapes. We thought it would be prudent to share a mix of one of his many fresh perspectives, where he explores something we at IT find very compelling — new juxtapositions of polyrhythms and drum and bass within a deeply hypnotic techno context. 

"I’ve really been enjoying exploring the sonic space between techno and drum and bass. What excites me about this fusion is how it challenges both myself and fans of these genres, as it often defies the expectations of each. The introduction of polyrhythms takes it even further, pushing the boundaries and making the music feel truly genre-agnostic. In this space, the emphasis shifts away from traditional structures, focusing more on rhythm and context than on genre conventions.

This mix is a studio recording rather than a live set from an IT event because I feel that this style of music requires a more intentional approach to the context of an event. It hasn’t quite aligned with the atmosphere of my time slots—at least, not for now." — Craig Gonzalez @craig-gonzalez

So happy to share the recording from my last set at Open Ground from December 2024. 

It was an emotional journey ~ I wanted to tell a story of diving into underwater dream lands, where spirit guides and glitchy creatures meet and send us messages from the other side... where sound takes over the brain and opens something in the heart and body.
I waved through many genres ~ ambient, jungle, electro, dubstep, drill, jazz, techno and the wonky in-between. It felt like I had the chance to express a fuller spectrum of who I am as a music lover. 🙏

That night, I had the honour of opening for the legend Surgeon ~ someone who’s deeply inspired my path since the very beginning. Sharing that moment with him and connecting was just wow. 🥹

Open Ground truly is one of the most special places on earth ~ the care, the sound, the freedom, the community, the crew… just perfection. 

So grateful to be invited back this saturday ! (26.07.2025)
