As we face an interesting winter in Europe with volatile power and gas prices, potential power cuts and more, batteries and their role in the grid have come increasingly into focus. But, what role does a battery play and how does that role vary by geography and market? What sorts of software exists to help with optimising and managing batteries?

Commodity Technology Advisory spoke with Ross Attrill of EnergyOne about how its' Enflow process automation software is being used for battery optimisation in Australia. We then spoke to Brady Technology's Chris Regan to learn about UK and Nordic markets and the role of batteries there before talking with Enegen's David Calmonson about batteries and software in the UK.
