I wrote this track just after lockdown, It was inspired by shoegaze and also the glitchy sounds and over-compressed drums of hyperpop, but recreated with live instruments.

I liked the idea of a track like this knowing what kind of track it is, who it's for and how it's meant to make you feel. Hence "Music for the Kids". It's a track for a nihilistic generation who needs an escape. "don't be perfect be a narcissist" is about asserting yourself in an uncaring world that is so void of meaning. "made for a world where nothing exists".

When I'm on a train I watch the buildings go past. like giant monuments to nothing. I never see anyone go in or anyone come out.  Their lights only illuminate themselves and drown out the sky. they uncaringly sleep over the crowds as a man in the next carriage cries.
