This edit (originally created in 2008 for my dj sets) was supposed to be included on the recently released third Autonomous Africa 12". Unfortunately I didn't get permission to use it in time for that release but permission has now been given, so rather than wait for AA 004 in 2015 it is going to come out as a limited edition hand stamped 10" as soon as possible. All proceeds will once again go to the Mtandika mission in Tanzania - http://www.actioninafrica.org/about-mtandika.php

Amadou & Mariam - Ce N'est Pas Bon (A JD Twitch edit)

https://soundcloud.com/kornel was born in Stockholm and grew up listening to his Hungarian parents’ Kraftwerk tapes while taking drum, piano and singing classes, fell in love with jungle at the early age of 10 and started djing professionally three years later. Back in 2006 Kornél started throwing parties in his hometown, playing at clubs and festivals all around Sweden as well as in Tokyo, Mexico City, New York, London, Barcelona, Berlin and wherenot. He then began hosting the highly influential P3 Dans show on Swedish national radio, partook in the 2008 Red Bull Music Academy and played a smashing peak time set for a packed Sónar By Day stage in 2009 and continued his quest for world dominance with starting the record label/dj trio/love thang Studio Barnhus together with Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist. 

Earlier this year he started the Puss label together with https://soundcloud.com/hnny and now we get his new vinyl only single "1985 Edits" which is basically three stupid fresh edits of tracks from the year he was born, to celebrate the release we here at Discobelle got an exclusive mix recorded live in the basement of the Marie Laveau club in Stockholm that takes on a booming ride through the Kornel soundscape of dirty techno, smooth house and raved up sounds.

Kornél Kovacs - Discobelle Mix

I made this field recording in the campo surrounding the Spanish village where my parents live. I love how peaceful the cacophony of nature can be sometimes, and particularly enjoy this recording for the sense of space and insight into non human communication it provides through the call and response of the birds across the hills.

Recorded in Spain 2010, I like the contrast in sounds of the two masters of the sky, the beautiful twittering of the birds against the imposing rumble of the plane overhead.

Constructed from the sounds of ripping and burning a CD. I was thinking a lot about the hidden sounds of digital reproduction, how I don't necessarily consider them and how they will gradually disappear as technolodgy develops. 

Posterity Measures

I constructed this piece in response to the global financial crisis. The glitches of machinery symbolise a broken system, but also the hope and beauty that can arise from it.
