Shaun J Wright & Madison Moore, two long-time friends, made their b2b debut at Balance in April 2022. Shaun opened our first Balance party in September 2019 and created a funky and insidious atmosphere that laid an unforgettable foundation for the night, so it was a no-brainer to invite them back for something special with Madison. A favorite of the American queer techno underground, Madison's sound compliments Shauns, pushing forward with bold, ethereal momentum.  Thank you Shaun and Madison!

LA’s Truncate @truncate headlined our April party. Since starting in 2010, Truncate has focused on stripped back, rugged takes on techno with a sly twist. Eschewing flash and fuss, Truncate delivers the goods with an audible sense of focus; you can practically hear him working a bevy of hardware drum machines and synthesizers as the tracks develop. From his debut EP “Contrasts” to last year’s “DTW 2 LAX” on esteemed Belgian imprint Token, Truncate has remained an unwavering, true school producer’s producer and a major presence in the underground. Possessing a knack for driving rhythms and rolling melodies with an emphasis on acidic and jacking dance music, Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Justin Cudmore is fast becoming a highly sought-after talent on the world stage. His debut release 'Crystal' on Honey Soundsystem's HNYTRX imprint became what some call an instant classic and he's steadily followed the hype with stellar releases on Interdimensional Transmissions, The Bunker NY and ISNISNT. Plus, with his latest release in the 'Twisted Love' EP on Phonica White he's continuing to prove there's loads of dancefloor ready tracks still to share. This is only just the beginning for @Cudmore and the future is blindingly bright.

In the past few years Cudmore has grown from local selector to globe-trotting DJ with high-profile performances at Berghain's Panorama Bar and both Circoloco at DC-10 in Ibiza and Circoloco Halloween in NYC, not to mention his continued presence at The Bunker NY parties. Through these sessions he's captivated thousands with his acid techno and house, a distinct sound profile that's garnered increased attention from his peers and fans alike. 

For Cudmore's Impact mix he delivered a live recording of a high powered DJ set he performed at The Carry Nation party at Brooklyn's foggy rave cave Good Room on October 13, 2018. Enjoy!

Shaun J. Wright (@shaunjwright) is an underground staple in their hometown of Chicago who has more recently been found DJing around the world. With over a decade as a creator, musician and artist, Wright came to prominence through their work with Hercules and Love Affair and via the label Twirl they run today with Alinka.  Shaun is a champion of queer identity within dance music and outside of it. Traditionally a house DJ, Shaun recently played 2 unannounced techno sets at Buttons in Berlin to high acclaim, and their set at Basement was no different.  They kicked off an amazing 1st night for Balance playing 10pm-2am.
